Help with MGID & Voluum tracking setup - Custom domain?

I edited this thread....

This is what MGID uses... might be useful to others.

MGID TRACKING DETAILS FROM ACCOUNT REP

AD TRACKING
There are three tracking options:

1. Macros
2. Pixel
3. s2s/Server to Server (Postback and highly recommended)

MGID supports post back pixels for tracking conversions via 1x1 JS (javascript) tracking pixels. Each placement in the network has a SITEID and WIDGETID for UTM passback, with more options down the pipeline. We add dynamic variables to the UTM strings of the URL’s. These can be loaded into Google Analytics, Kochava and Appsflyer currently.
Regarding postback:

The postback url depends on the event parameters sued. The tokens we can transfer are {widget_id} and {teaser_id}. Please add them to the URL. We can use up to three events, which are:

1) Interest

http://a.mgid.com/1x1.gif?id=114920&type=c&g={teaser_id}&t={widget_i d}&tg=interest&v=1&r=&p=1
id=114920 -> id of the client
tg=interest -> event
g={teaser_id}&t={widget_id} - > our passed parameters in the tracking link

2) Lead

http://a.mgid.com/1x1.gif?id=114920&type=c&g={teaser_id}&t={widget_i d}&tg=lead&v=1&r=&p=1

3) Deposit

http://a.mgid.com/1x1.gif?id=114920&type=c&g={teaser_id}&t={widget_i d}&tg=deposit&v=1&r=&p=1

Postbacks are flexible. We have another condition to making it working properly which is passing you our source's parameters in your tracking link

g={teaser_id}&t={widget_id}

You should accept them on your side and in case of success to pass them via postback in the relevant fields.

{teaser_id} - this is the macro for the id of the clicked ad unit
{widget_id} - this is the macro for the id of the publisher

For example in the real life our tracking link will be:

http://www.redirecttv.com/b7ac7b12-f...1000000&t=1000

And the postback url in case of lead event/:

http://a.mgid.com/1x1.gif?id=114920&...ead&v=1&r=&p=1
This gives us a clear view of the performance per sources of traffic.

FAQ on Ad Tracking:
Q: Can you pass sub-publisher information so a client can black/whitelist publisher?
A: Sure, the client can track this data by adding two variables {widget_id} and {teaser_id} to his tracking link.
Q: How do you optimize your campaigns?
Our account managers track the performance of each ad (by teaser id) and placement (by widget id) and block those which doesn't bring the desired results (which is quality click thrus). We have an optimization process, which includes evaluating the best performing placements and creatives to focus on. Those placements that are under performing get replaced or adjusted to perform better (whether that is changing the creative, the teaser header, the websites that they are running on or the bids themselves).
We offer Widget ID and Teaser ID within our tracking link.
