The End of AdMob

Got this in the mail...

"Following the acquisition of AdMob by Google, we have continued to operate two parallel mobile web ad networks on both Google and AdMob platforms. To ensure we offer a single best solution for mobile web publishers and advertisers, we will be focusing our mobile web efforts on the Google platform going forward. On September 30, 2011, we will begin this transition to the Google platform and will discontinue support for WAP mobile web on the AdMob network.

This means that mobile web inventory on AdMob will be discontinued in favor of inventory on the Google ad network. Advertisers who are currently running campaigns targeting AdMob’s WAP mobile web network are asked to register for a Google AdWords account as soon as possible and set up new mobile campaigns within AdWords."

I wonder if adwords has the same rules when it comes to mobile landers, if they need nav and all that.

What ad server are you using to serve ads in mobile apps?

Is there a way to capture the 'carrier' or operator token from admob? i.e. Verizon, AT&T, etc? Wonder how this will change once it moves to adwords.

I thought I had heard good things about mobile on adwords.....but I personally have never tested it out....just had a few people saying it was doing well for them....

My Admob account was already linked to my Adwords account via login (per Admob's request weeks ago). Now Admob suggests that we recreate our campaigns in Adwords, so I guess since my Adwords account is permanently suspended I'm screwed, unless I want to try and generate another Google account.

I signed up for Jumptap the day I got the Admob email and rolled over my best Admob campaigns. I already have some good results from my text ad campaigns, though not quite as good as Admob since Admob's text ads include a small image that pulled more attention.
