Going to attend both events. Can"t wait to meet you guys~~
PLEASE NOTE: An official registration page will be available in the next few days. These are free events but registration is essential. If there are too many people registered, priority will go to affiliates who are STM members.
Looking forward to meeting up in person!
Amy
Looks awesome guys!
Any events in Europe in the making?
See u guys soon.

A private yacht is definitely the best (and usually the only) way to visit some of Hong Kong's remote coastline and beaches

Registration link is up! Please find it in the original post.

Gonna try to make at least one of these events....glad to see GMT+8 is finally getting some respect
Hong Kong is beautiful. Better plan a few extra days to explore the city and all the stuff around it. It's superb!
Hey everyone! PLEASE NOTE that the location for the Shenzhen event has been changed - to Juicy-Juicy Bar located at OCT Harbour (欢乐海岸). There are 2 reasons for this change of location: 1)At Juicy-Juicy we'll be renting the entire 1st floor which will be more spacious and also quieter for us to talk, and 2)this location is more convenient for those that don't drive, as it is accessible by bus.
Please make a note of this change - can't wait to see you guys there!
Amy
It's been confirmed: zeno & the mysterious cmdeal will be gracing both events with their presence, and hlyghst will be attending the HK event! There are only a few spots left so please register right now to avoid disappointment.
Amy
Hi Amy,
11am sees a little early, have you finalized the time? 1pm or 2pm is prolly much better imo.

UPDATE: All 40 spots on the yacht have been filled. Please see the details below regarding where to meet and what to bring for the event. Note that we'll be meeting around the Pier 9/10 area. Looking forward to seeing you there!
(I've just emailed this out to all event participants as well - sorry for the repetition but I want to make sure everyone sees this!)
How to Get to the Boat
Where is Central? Central is on the north side of Hong Kong Island. It is marked with the red flag on the below map.

Arriving
The below map shows Central Pier 9 which is to the east (right if facing the water) of the Star Ferry pier.

This is the street view of Pier 9.

The boat will try to pick us up at Central Pier 9 however sometimes the pier is very busy and it is easier to dock at pier 10. Please wait around the Pier 9/10 area.
What to Bring
Sunscreen, hats, swimmers, towels. Drinks will be waiting for you onboard but please feel free to bring your own!
Lunch
I've made reservations for us at Ming Kee Restaurant for 1:00pm. You can choose to eat there or anywhere else you wish, or even bring your own lunch if you like - we have ice onboard!
hate that i am missing this. was in hong kong last month and loved it.
Does 10 cans of beer per person for one whole day sound plenty? (plus water and juice)
I am drinking water only and bringing a note pad.
Hi,
My girlfriend want to join the Hong Kong Event suddenly.
Is there still seat available for one more person?
Unfortunately, we arent joining you in these wonderful events, but we will be seeing you @ the AWA in BKK! Our CEO will be there, Karel, and our colleague Ivan you is an expert in all things! And if your around Asia, our colleagues from the Shanghai offices are always happy to welcome you.
I wanted to add some useful info if possible
I grew up in HK ( and obviously went shopping in Shenzhen, back in the day! xD) So if anyone, for some reason, gets to the pier late or hasnt got a spot on the boats (maybe anguschkong
) but you want to spend a day on the beach... there are several places you can go!.
For more private beaches, go to Sai Kung and rent a sampan (if a private yacht is out of the question, of course :P ) As cmdeal mentioned, its the best way to visit the beaches, you just have to negotiate a price with the "drivers" (usually very nice and funny ladies, though there are some aggresive negotiators, as always
)
There are some nice beaches a ferry ride away on Lantau and Lamma Island, easier to access, the HK ferry piers are pretty simple xD Plus, as they are less secluded they have some nice seafood restaurantes! I´ve never had any issues with seafood in HK, but then again I grew up there and inevitably have a stomach of steel xD
These beaches have some nice "hiking" routes for those who are less prone to laying like a lizard on the beach, they usually pass by some old villages or cottages. (And I say "hiking" coz they might just be easy going concrete walkways around the island, nothing too complicated)
What I do recommend: HK gets "grey skies" alot... but dont be fooled by the lack of direct sun, you will get sunburnt the same, to a crisp! Do take into consideration what Vortex suggests: suncreen and hat! xD
Hope you all have a great time in HK, and if you want any suggestions at all just PM me... shopping, eating, travelling... happy to help!
Hong Kong networking event was awesome! Great meeting you all, and big thanks to vortex for organising this. The views and boat tour was stunning, I think there was enough food and drinks there for the entire China Red Army, and Avazu's Duiqianba T-shirts at the end was a sweet surprise.
Looking forward to the STM Shenzhen networking event in a few hours!
Great Networking with you guys
Wow Marina! Thanks for all the advice! Will be seeing your colleagues at AWA for sure!
Amy
A big thanks to everyone who graced the events with your presence! I personally had the greatest time just chatting with everyone, and swapping experiences and ideas and personal stories. Some of you big dogs gave me ideas I'll be implementing on my own camps, and I connected with a couple of affiliate networks and got to exchange some ideas on how affiliates and networks can work better together.
Special thanks goes to Avazu for sponsoring the http://www.duiqianba.com blog. They're doing a simply exceptional job on translating the best content on affiliate marketing into Chinese. The 2 Avazu reps that attended our HK and SZ meetups were able to get tshirts printed on short notice. Some of you that got the tshirts at the HK event wore them to the SZ event - 太给力了! We still have tshirts left over which I've brought back with me to Bangkok, so if any of you would like one, ask me at AWA because I'll be taking them there!
A huge thank-you goes to adwater for running errands in preparation for the HK meetup. He bought drinks and transported stuff and people around in his car.
Another huge thank-you goes to adgale for all his help with the SZ meetup. He provided transportation for the STM team and helped us with payment arrangements at the bar.
Yet another huge thanks goes to racewolf for sending 5 people from his team (Micro Cube Digital Limited) to the Shenzhen meetup, for saving our stomachs with a delicious meal afterwards, and also for issuing invitation letters so we could apply for Chinese visas!
And thanks to cmdeal, zeno and hlyghst for coming out to these meetups. I know some of you were lucky enough to get tips from these guys. If you did, implement them, because these guys know what they're talking about!
Just one complaint: You guys were WAY too polite and conservative with the drinking! For the HK meetup we had a whole cart of drinks left over - good thing we were able to give them away to random people at the pier afterwards. And at the SZ meetup we paid a minimum spending to rent the place but didn't manage to eat/drink the whole balance. In the end we had to take a couple bottles of Jack Daniels with us to exhaust our tab.
All in all I had a lot of fun and hope you guys did too! They won't be the last meetups and as I gain more experience in hosting events they'll only get better. I already got some feedback on how I could improve on the next event - thanks SO much for that - and if anyone else has additional feedback/suggestions I'd appreciate hearing about them as well!
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing some of you again at AWA!
Amy
P.S. Gonna post some pics below. Please feel free to post yours as well!
Pics from the STM HK Meetup...

Will there be any events in HKG or SHZ again anytime soon!? Wasn't able to make it back last time
