short story, long way to go

Hi, AM people!
I’ve been working on my first campaigns along with my partner Cec for a few months (started in April).

We are sticking to the GREAT Cookbook (thanks Caurmen!), we tried various offers from ClickDealer, in Games and App Download, on different countries (Italy, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, Brazil…) for having our first split-tests on mobile.
We created some banners with different angles, had them translated in a local language (Indonesia), split-tested them, and, above all, learned how to use Decisive and to cut and refine your placements.
By the way, Decisive is a great tool, it allows you to create and shape your campaign in many ways, but unfortunately over the last two months they seem having major problems: their traffic is almost dead.

The following is the luckiest one among our early campaigns:
Traffic source: Decisive
Offer: 360 Security (antivirus, booster) - payout: $0,20 - recommended by AM
Network: Clickdealer
Vertical: App Install
Geo: Indonesia
Type: banner
Budget: $60/campaign
Bid: $0.030
Dates: 23-29, July, 2015
Spent: $36,39
Bids: 9,378,158 (wifi/app and mobile/app and site)
Clicks: 7,618 (0.7%)
Conversions: 10 (0.02%)
ROI: - 93

In July I created a Mastemind Group (6 members, newbies to Affiliate Marketing), and at the beginning of August we launched
a joint MM campaign:

Traffic source: ZeroPark
Offer: Win a Mini, 0,35€ payout, recommended by AM
Network: Adsimilis
Vertical: Sweepstakes
Geo: Brazil
Type: pop ads
Budget: $150/campaign
Bid: $0.016 (AVG is $0.0015)

The campaign:

At the end of the first day, we cut some target sites that had spent a lot with no conversions.
After six hours from the start we cut one of the landers which had spent more than 10 times the PO without converting.
After 24 H we cut an OS (Apple), very high spending – no conversions
After 24 H we lowered the bid to 0,015
After 24H: ROI -87.38 CTR: 27.82
After the blacklisting (second day): ROI -75.42 CTR 39.61

At this point we went through the sales funnel, and we noted that completing the application forms on the mobile is cumbersome, ie, too many fields to be filled, and this may discourage the user.

Accordingly we decided to pause the campaign, even if we noted our two landing pages were having good results. Now (after a brief pause for Summer vacation) we are discussing what to do with this one.

Meanwhile…

Two weeks ago, my partner and I launched a new campaign in Decisive (just to check if the TS works or not – and the answer is: NOT at all), on a recommended offer from Adsimilis.

The following are the info:
Traffic source: Decisive
Offer: Win iPhone6/Samsung 6/Nexus 6
PO: 0,35€, recommended by AM
Network: Adsimilis
Vertical: Sweepstakes
Geo: Brazil
Type: banners 320-50
Budget: $8 per day/70 per campaign
Bid: $0.60 1st day - $1.50 2nd day - $0.30 3rd day
The campaign:
as we saw the bids were very slow, we tried to vary our bid, just trying ‘to provoke’ the traffic flow. NO RESULTS, so farewell to Decisive….
Dates: 12-15 August
Spending: $4.93
Bids: 95095 Wins: 48726 (51%)
Clicks: 1,128 (2.3%)
Conversions: 0
ROI: -100

And now...
We are preparing a new campaign, for this same offer ‘win a smartphone’ with a new and friendly AffNetwork: Adsimilis, (thanks to Andrea a great AM which speaks Italian and is always available) and with a new traffic source: PopAds.
We are designing the landers, in local language (BR), please wish us good luck!
In these days we are applying to other traffic sources and affiliate networks, and thanks to these first experiences and the group work in the MM, we have gathered some data and we feel ready to invest an higher budget.
All your comments and/or suggestions are welcome.
