I'm not too sure if this is a good idea since I'm still quite new.

Yes, you should start up a meet - as a newbie, even though I feel like I have nothing of substance to contribute, I went to the first Melbourne STM meet and it was awesome to be in amongst people of the same mindset as I am/ want to be in.
I went along (and am going along this sunday again) not because I need nannying as someone who is new to this, but as a pusher, thinking to myself "motherf$%#er, you've got some serious work to do" - that, and the fact that not rocking up = I'm bitching out and not being accountable for my productivity, are hugely valuable aspects of meetups in my opinion.
make it happen!!!
yeah that is what I want too, I feel really unmotivated and feel like I need some people to work with.
