A little about myself, I first came across AM after reading Charles Ngo's blog. After devouring as much information as I could in a week, I decide to dive right in. I joined STM after hearing so many great things about it, and so far it hasn't disappointed! I hope this follow along with be as fruitful.
I'm folowing the mobile cookbook (appetizer), and as a result I'm doing app downloads.
So, lets get down to business!
Traffic source: Decisive
Vertical: Utility Apps
Offer(s): 360 security app
Geos: Canada
Budget: $8/day per campaign (as per cookbook)
Bid: Using smart CPM, so far bids seem to be around $0.06
Angles: I will be testing out 2 angles - Protect your phone from viruses/malware, and speed up/optimize your device
Campaign structure: I’m going to split by geo and then split into WiFi/Carrier and App/Site, giving 4 campaigns per angle and 8 overall.
Banners (8 banners per angle): Angle 1-

Question: I'm following the cookbook, and it states that I should wait till I reach $15 dollar spend on each campaign before making any changes. However, as of right now - over the course of a day and a half, the highest spending campaign has spent $0.08. This seems to be quite slow - is this normal?

Increased the CPA goal to $0.8 and the Daily limit to $15.
There now seems to be an increase in the bid rate. hopefully this should speed up the data collection process.
imho 1 - text on the banners are too small, mb you should try to do additional versions with less text or with bigger text headings?
imho 2 - offer is not so fresh, so it can be really hard to receive conversions using "wide or generic angels" presented in your creatives.

Just one question, have you thought about split testing/using moving images/gifs as well as your static banners? Perhaps this is something you could add.
Also on your banners try to make the max amount of words: 4-7, just think about if someone is playing a game, they have a tiny amount time to read your advert, have something blinking or moving on your banner. You also have loads of space on some of the banners, around the text, make sure you use the space, sorry for being critical i probably don't know much better myself.
Also perhaps give the text a yellow glow, if you use photoshop i believe you right click the text layer>blending options>stroke>change colour to yellow.

@jack_k - no, be as critical as possible! I haven't had any conversions yet, so I must be doing quite a few things wrong. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely split test with gifs and try the yellow glow trick.
That is insane, I had about 10% foreign traffic and it was a lot as well. Find and kill the placements that bring you traffic from the usa, you can also redirect that traffic to an other offer as well, if it is complicated with placement( in my case my converting placement brought me some foreign traffic as well, so was not an easy blacklist, but most of the cases it should be a wrong placement).

@balint, how do I find the placements that are causing this? I've had a look on Go2Mobi, and it shows me all the placements and each has a country code from kenya...
EDIT: I'm getting in touch with my Go2Mobi account manager, hopefully they can shed some light on this.
We are aware that there have been issues with our Kenya traffic and we are working to rectify the issue. One of the only geos that we have known problems.
I believe your AM has already refunded your account for the mistargeted traffic. Really sorry about the inconvenience, not an ideal way to launch one of your first campaigns.

Same issue as I have with Decisive. 80% traffic is non targeted. Good luck with your journey!
@Moazam, send them a message, they may be having issues. Apparently my problem was a Go2Mobi issue.
Already did. It's 5th day and no response from them.

Just as I had created 3 new lp's, and optimized them for the most commonly used mobiles - I get an email saying the offers been paused!

I've come up with a variety of angles for the offer. I only need to choose one, but I was getting into the flow of things.

Good work! Doing this sort of mass angle generation can really jumpstart your campaigns.
I don't have any major critiques - just make sure the images you use are appropriate for the angle and the geo, and get testing!
