Hi Jack,
Good luck on your first Campaign! I have calls with some networks tomorrow so I won't be long behind you.
Wondering how you went about choosing your offer? Did your AM advise it for you or?
Also is Australia not expensive for traffic? Is that big cost too high to get enough data relative to your budget per day?
Also many of your banners look very similar, would you be able to get more data with eight REALLY different banner designs?
Do you have data that GIF banners work better than static banners for offers like these?
Hope you do really well sir, your answers will help me heaps
Good luck on your campaign Jack!
Good luck to you too Jesse!
hit me up on skype : ziho media if you want to chat about your experiences so far
Nice work dude
Question for you - have you read Caurmen's "Mobile Cookbook'? If you haven't you definitely should. Even if you don't follow the method exactly, it will teach you a lot about using Decisive and the campaign creation and testing process.
Answers to your questions...
1. This varies a lot - if you didn't care about profiting you would be testing for statistical significance, but most people make a judgment call based on the payout for their offer (how much is yours btw?). This is also explained in the mobile cookbook.
2. Seeing as this is your first ever campaign this will all be a learning curve. It would not be a good idea to be split testing traffic sources yet before you've learnt the first one
3. You should split test everything
I don't think you should really follow a rule such as "dynamic works better, always use dynamic", you should mix it up. Some banners work better dynamic and some work better static.
4. Keep hustling :P
5. Again, the mobile cookbook gives a recommendation on this. Vortex also made a great guide on the subject (http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...Banners-Part-1). You'll need to keep in mind how many variables are at play in your campaign when blacklisting (wifi/cell, placements, banners, offers, OS' etc etc) because you need to make sure you give your banners a fair test. For example, cutting it because it's not converting might be a mistake when it's actually the offer that isn't converting.
6. You can't edit the banners if that's what you mean, but you can add as many new banners or variations as you'd like.
hey sorry i havn't posted on this thread for a few days but my offers i chose keep getting cancelled! But i will update this with my new campaigns :/.
@jessevstheworld - Hey thanks man appreciate the support! How did your calls go i hope they went well! Sorry it's late but ill try to answer your questions:
Wondering how you went about choosing your offer? Did your AM advise it for you or? - Honestly i gave up asking my AM shes not much help, i have to ask her if my offer has gone down, but i get emails from the network saying what the top offers are this month so i just chose one of those with a GEO i thought would be easy and not to saturated.
Also is Australia not expensive for traffic? Is that big cost too high to get enough data relative to your budget per day? - Honestly yes it probably is for my budget but since it's my first campaign i thought i'm going to try and get as many things wrong as possible so next time ill be at a better position to call which offer i want to run.
Also many of your banners look very similar, would you be able to get more data with eight REALLY different banner designs? - hahaha yes i looked after you posted your comment and damn yeah alot of them are very similar, but next time ill make them all alot different from each other, different colours, text, images etc.
Do you have data that GIF banners work better than static banners for offers like these? - No i was speaking to a friend and i think Ruby mentioned it in the post above about this and he says i shouldn't make assumptions before i actually test the fact that one works better than another, so another thing learned
. - Wish you all the best man, PM me or skype me (ill let you know in pm) i want to know how your getting on! Good Luck!
@datle888 Hey dattle! Thanks for the kind words! I hit you up on skype earlier today but you have probably seen that already XD Good Luck to your sir!
@Ruby Tunes Hey Ruby Thanks for the reply to my questions, helped out alot! I love the answer to question 4 XD. I think i was worrying about not testing enough data and stuff but your right i just need to get the basics down first, i will go through Caurmens guide again and launch another campaign.
Just a little update to the following campaign, this current offer died the other day, and i chose another offer today which i think was cancelled today XD (my luck, or my lack of skill of choosing offers :/) But i will post an update to my progress soon. See you then!
Damn that's a bad run of offer pauses!
Can always grab a couple of offers to test at the same time - that way if one pauses you've still got others. But you'll also have to be wary of needing more data by adding more variables.
Hope it's going well, Jack
I just made banners for my first offer and they're all identical; I couldn't manage practice what I was preaching.
Check out my follow along and let me know if you have any advice
