Volume after optimizing campaigns

Hello everyone, this is my first post on STM.

I am promoting adult offers in Tier 2 countries and getting really frustrated.

I don't seem to have problems getting campaigns to profitability, which I guess is a good thing, but everytime I'm done optimizing the volume is pretty much gone....

For example I started a campaign in Austria, invested $500 to test my creatives and get all the data I needed (took a few days). I was running on Exoclick, 300x250, around 100 placements...

By the time I was done optimizing placements, week/day parting data, banners, LPs and offers, I found myself with a consistent 50% ROI but the volume was gone. All I could get was 20 bucks a day profit at most...

Obviously when you spend $500 to get a "$20 profit a day" campaign it takes a month just to get your testing money back, and that's only if you can keep your ROI at the same level for that long..... And even then, it's just not exciting at all

Every campaign I start is like that... Then I try to bring the winners to other networks, but even then the placements are different so you still have some testing and optimizing to do, just to end up with a profitable campaign making peanuts on low volume.

I guess the easy answer would be to move on to tier 1 countries that have endless volume, but I don't think this is the problem.

The Tier 2 countries I run still have millions of impressions a day and big potential. There is little doubt that some affiliates are getting $x,xxx/day net profit per campaign in those countries, surely some of you will confirm that.

But I have no idea how they do it. To get a campaign to be profitable you need to optimize, and I can't seem to be able to optimize a campaign without losing 90% of the volume or more.

Having a "volume problem" in adult dating is quite frustrating as I know the volume is huge, but that's where I'm at ...

Any advice for me?

Thanks,
Julien

That's a good tip indeed, I forgot about that one. Unfortunately it's already set at 500€ per day so can't be the problem.
