Keyword vs Target in ZeroPark

Hey,

Is there a difference between Keyword and Target in ZeroPark Pop Campaign options?

I mean if I make a Keyword campaign bidding on "google.com" and a target campaign bidding on "google.com" is basically the same right? I would end up competing for the same traffic?

Hi,

A target in Zeropark is a string that looks something like "bravo-ups-RoZnqHYu", which represents a specific website that you bought impressions on. You can get these once you've run a keyword or a ron campaign.

But still... Is there any difference if I make two campaigns?..one using KEYWORD and one using TARGET? In each one I have the option to chose "keyword.com". Are you saying that they both receive different type of traffic or they both share the same traffic source?

It's two totally different things man.

Keyword - that means bidding on the keyword "Google.com", not bidding on traffic from the Google website, just bidding on the keyword

Target - this is the place where the ad is actually being advertised on. Like Noel said, this is a unique ID given by ZP to each website. If you type in Google.com into target, it won't work.

I believe a TARGET is a specific source of traffic within the ZeroPark system. So if you start a campaign with that target then you'll only get traffic from that exact target and no other for that campaign. If you use a KEYWORD campaign then the only thing that is necessary for you to get traffic from any given TARGET is that the token "google.com" be present somewhere in the URL. That can happen in various ways so I think the key point is that KEYWORD traffic can get you traffic from many different sources, potentially. While TARGET will give you only the traffic from one source within the ZeroPark system.

Here's an example of how using a keyword campaign for google.com can get you traffic from a different website than google.com:

http://www.bing.com/search?q=google.com

notice that even though the traffic source is bing.com the URL does contain "google.com" so you could get traffic from bing in this case simply because the URL contains "google.com"

That's how I understand it anyway

My take on it is that POP target, will target pops from the url - "google.com". When you set up the campaign for a POP target and add google.com as the intended target, it will generate a list of targets like "tango-due-JtlbLMWM'. I think each of these is a pop source that can generate a pop when the visitor goes to google.com.

Pop keyword, looks for the keyword in the string. Not sure if it is just the url string. It may include the meta keyword string too.

Basically, if you want to pop on the URL use Pop Target. If you want to pop on the match for the string use Pop Keyword.

May I know what is the different between using Zeropark and Google AdWords bidding on keywords targeting?

Hey Guys,

Good question! In reference to PPV campaigns, keyword campaigns are used for more broad targeting. So if you wanted chose facebook as a broad keyword, you would be targeting everything that includes facebook. Whereas, in target campaigns, if you choose facebook.com you would only be targeting facebook.com without any subsidiaries. Keyword campaigns allow for more flexibility and broader reach.

Best,
ZP
