First facebook campaign!
Background: I am a AdWords partner,6+ years in eComm & AdWords. I started my own "agency" this January after being screwed over by my last employer($5K+ not paid). Best decision ever! I am right at the tipping point of being able to hire some help and reduce my hours needed/week for the business. I ultimately want my AdWords clients to fund my affiliate education.
Offer: The eBook is for non-technical business owners who pay for advertising. This book contains step by step guides (+video) on how to review your account to check for big picture things that should be done - if they are paying some one to manage their account, basically a quick audit. Somewhat capitalizing on the underlining mistrust of Ad agencies SMBs have. I plan to test different prices to see what converts best.
The SMB owner will learn how to..
See what changes are being made to the account
Review their account to see if industry best practices are being followed(no call tracking and a local business, um...fail, etc)
I am about half way done writing it and then half the video's to record. I believe the video's will really increase the perceived value of the product and allow me to have higher conversion rates at higher prices.
Angles:
"Is your PPC Actually Being Managed"
"Are you being ripped off"
etc
Action Items 8/10
-Brainstorm list of names for the book
-Review angles thread - really need to more "categories" of angles"
-Write!
Before even writing the book, you should test if people are willing to buy it. Just put up some Adwords campaigns and a landing page and see if it gets any conversions whatsoever.
Unless you are actively looking for a DMCA and a lawsuit, I would suggest you stick with images for which you have the legal rights to use on your ads.
Thanks for the advice! This did cross my mind...- everything is paused for now.
Less is definitely more with facebook ad copy. Keep the long copy for your lander. Also, you need to keep your images to 20% text or less. Check them here - https://www.facebook.com/ads/tools/text_overlay
Thanks!
I may relaunch this campaign (with different ads/copy). I re-read through Zeno's guides and did find some big flaws in how I structured the campaigns.
Positive note - 1 response so far for the follow up email on landing a new Law AdWords Client -> This would give a nice cash bump for another test.
Results from another Campaign Sunday-Monday.
Audience: Male 46-65+, Targeted by a list of Job Titles for Lawyers,Attorneys - Facebook Estimates 10,000 (rather small!)
Bidding: Clicks to Website - Let facebook optimize
Ads: I ran the 2 on the left side above.
Winning Ad: Party one - probaly because of the half naked woman.
Impressions(All Ads):2796
CTR:1.54%
Clicks:43
Website Clicks:27
Average CPC: .70
Average Website CPC: $1.12
Leads: 2 (only from winnning ad, who had 19/27 clicks)
Cost per lead:$15.08
Questions:
Impressions are low: Is that because of the audience size? Or my low CTR?
This may seem like stating the blindingly obvious, but ...
the best traffic source for selling an eBook ... is amazon.
Amazon kindle book search is a traffic source consisting almost entirely of people who are actively looking for ebooks on the topics they search for. Make sure you Amazon search optimise your book for the kindle store and you have great covers, initial ratings, etc. If that doesn't get you enough traction or high enough Amazon SERPS, you can amplify your reach through their paid route.
Cmdeal = cash money deal
Thanks!
"Setbacks" this week: Ended up landing 3 new PPC clients - Can't complain! Getting busy - just not enough revenue to hire some one yet.
