At a cross roads

I've been trying run adult dating offers on re-direct traffic for a while. However I always seem to hover a round the -20% ROI.

When split testing some days I will see landers break even but the next day they will also drop.

Recently on the forum there seems to be a lot of talk of adult being very difficult to crack in 2015 without a competitive advantage.

I'm now at the stage where I'm considering is it worth me continuing trying to run adult dating offers or is it worth me taking what I've learnt running re-directs and pops but running them with another vertical.

Adult is competitive for sure. Landers don't change that much so you can get away with ripping and modding and optimizing with further testing. But ripped banners usually don't do that well plus they burn out fast, so you'll need to continually churn out new ones to stay ahead.

If you've actually decided to leave the adult vertical, perhaps it would be worth it to make a "last ditch effort" - look into your stats to identify the best offer, best lander, and best banner, and run them on the best placements using the best targeting (device types etc). In other words, choose the best of all variables based on your testing up til now. If you're able to hit green, then maybe you'll decide to optimize further. If not, what's another $50 (for example) compared to all that money you've already spent on past data?

Having said that - if you're truly sick and tired of adult, moving onto another vertical may be a really good thing to do as well. Forcing yourself to continue to work on something when your enthusiasm is no longer there will probably not effect good results.

Have fun!

Thats a good advice by Amy (in other news, sky is blue).

The adult niche is highly competitive. Might worth be trying 1 final big push, but there are other verticals that are a good option.

Sweepstakes, for example, are working very well with pops so I do think you might want to do some testing...

But a definite answer no one can really give you IMO, as affiliates are making money in all verticals. Its what YOU want to do thats the most important.
