Mobile Sweepstakes on Decisive (24)

08-05-2015 08:30 AM #1 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Hey, first congrats on taking action!

Are you using a landing page or just direct linking? If the second, sweeps tend to convert best with a LP in the middle.

Also, I would clone the campaign to Go2Mobi and Avazu mDSP.

I'm just direct linking as of right now. Once I get more comfortable with landing pages, I'll most likely use them.

Hey DJ - you'll probably see 2-3X the conversion rates using an LP. I run these a lot and it will really help to work on one. Also as bbrock said, Go2Mobi and Avazu can be good. I'd probably scale over to Go2Mobi first over Avazu... Good luck!

Should I scale over with what I have now, or try to make some landing pages first?

Seems like you need to up your spend to get any more data. I also agree with everyone saying you need a LP to do damage in sweeps. Is Decisive still having volume issues? $4 spent in 2 days seems really low to me.

I would recommend you switching traffic source because a lot of the mDSP have banned sweepstake from their platform. You better check with the account manager to double confirm that you'll still be getting decent volume for your campaign.

I do not do mobile, but for what i see you need to spend some time working on your Spanish as some of the banners are not correct.

e.g "Quieres un nuevo iphone? Actuar ahora" that should have been "Quieres un iphone? Actua ahora"

I think that can put some people off.

Just my opinion

I just have the smart CPM set up like it told me to in the appetizer tutorial. CPA goal $0.60, check the unlimited box under budget, and daily limit is $8. I thought it was low too.

What does mDSP mean?

That's what stupid google translate gave me. I had a feeling that it would mess it up, that's the reason why I didn't want to do a Spanish offer in the first place. Any other good translators out there besides people?

How the hell do I tag someone in a post? Cannot figure it out.

I think you will have to pay one hour translation, because i do not think a software would be as good as a person. Specially google translate, that is just basics.

Check on odesk or fiverr as well for translations.

Just a precaution - even OHT fail sometimes.
So you'd better recheck their translation with google translate, if something is wrong just ask the translator why google translate it wrong. Most of the time the answer will be like "google sucks", but sometimes "oh shit, you're right - this should be changed".
One more tip - be very specific about your text to translate. I mean actually use that comment box and say "please make it sound like that or like that. The word 'cock' in this context means a bird". You get the idea

It take more time but you actually get a good copy and build a relation with the translator. You'll ask for using local slangs or other local specifics. Just don't be lazzy

Update: Right now I'm learning Muse for my landing pages. Html is hell on earth for me. Signed up to Fiverr for translation. Why does Go2Mobi require that I scan my credit card and ID? I know it says to verify identity, but that just seems like overkill to me. Is this normal for a lot of traffic sources? Also, still zero conversions. I'll post a pick of all the info later.

Upped my CPA goal to $1 and daily limit to $16 also on decisive.

Jokes aside. If this is a requirement I would do:
They actually did say both sides minus the CVC. I'm was kinda shocked, then I was like wtf? Yeah, there's no way in hell I'm giving them my complete credit card details. I'll try what you said and then hopefully that's enough.

So I just got onto Cloudfront to upload my lander and I don't know what the hell any of this stuff means. Does anyone have any tutorials or something I can read or watch?

Simply follow the instructions given here to use CloudFront. I normally serve my static content, which I've hosted on Amazon S3, using CloudFront. Let me know if you have any other questions regarding this.

Do I have to use s3 or can I strictly use Cloudfront? I was under the impression that I could just do that with Voluum.

We have had to alter our sign up process for free email accounts unfortunately. This means that any account that signs up using a gmail.com, yahoo.com, or any other free email provider address will automatically be put in pending for review of the mentioned identification documents. Really, you shouldn't have to scan anything other than the front of the CC- all we need is the credit card number, your name, and expiry date. Nothing on the back of the card adds any value or credibility to the card, and so is unnecessary.

I know for a fact that we are not the only network that requires scans of ID & CC. TrafficJunky definitely requires this information for verification purposes, or at least they did at one time. Some networks/platforms won't even allow users with free email accounts to sign up PERIOD, forget verification. We're hopeful that we will be able to find a solution to this issue and bypass the ID/CC verification process in the future, but for now all free accounts will have to provide their information to be approved.

It seems that the images are missing. If you uploaded them, look at your HTML code, maybe you have the wrong path.

Yup, you are right, my mistake.

No clue about anything dealing with html, that's why I'm using muse lol.

Finally found all this dumb shit out, getting things rolling again and I'll be posting more soon.

One more question and I think I'm good. After all said and done and my tracking is setup, the campaign URL that it gives me at the end in Voluum, I'm assuming I put that in the Decisive link, right? I did it anyways, so hopefully I'm ok.
