I tested 6 banners, 2 landing pages, 2 offers. I took the best banners and make variations of them. Tested them again, cut the losers, kept the winners. Ran it for a day or two and made some profits. So no I wanted to try a alimony it to different placements and different countries. It is loosing about 1% daily. So do I just start the process over again? And if I am then what is the point of the initials tests? How many times will I have to test and optimism before I start hitting profitability?
So you are at a -1% ROI?
If true that can be turned around very easily.
Optimise a bit more ( landers , adcopy , offer , server speed etc ) and you should be in the green in no time.
Hey bud! To answer your question - yes, optimizing should be an ongoing process, especially since you're doing adult (if I remember correctly from our conversations).
Banners will burn out at a fast rate (the more places you run them at the faster they'll burn out). Landers will burn out a lot less quickly but can always be improved. Offers will become stale as members databases get saturated. Etc.
This is what I would do:
Banners: Take your best banners, and pair up the images and headlines from different banners and test those. Write more banner headlines for your best angle and pair them up with some of your best images. Gather new images and test them with your best headlines. Also continue to test new angles. Now that you have a good banner/lander/offer combo, you may want to focus more on the current-best angle and less on testing new angles.
Lander: If you feel your current lander is doing well, start split-testing versions. Write 5-10 different headlines and test those. Then test 10 images. Then test 5 CTAs. Etc.
Offer: See if you can find other good offers to test. Since your current offer is good, maybe only direct a small portion of your traffic to testing new offers (say 20%?)
Placements / Traffic Sources: Cut anything that's not giving you at least 20-30% ROI. Have you tried Exoclick RON yet? Now that you have a good banner + lander + offer combo you may be ready to attack that beast. It will take lot of cash to identify good placements but the rewards can be big. There's a lot of other stuff you can play with to push into the green. Aside from the major ones listed above, there's dayparting, frequency (of ads shown to each visitor), devices/models (if you're targetting mobile), etc.
