Have a phone interview with affiliate network tomorrow, what to expect?
Hello all,
I've got a phone call tomorrow with an affiliate network. Through my application I've been completely honest, stating that I'm new to AM but have had some experience in sales.
In my application I've stated my budget -which will be around £3000 to start with, with extra available if necessary. I've also highlighted that I'm looking to target mobile, and in particular app downloads with direct links or PIN submits (I'm aiming to follow the mobile cookbook).
Now, my question is - what should I expect from this conversation? Will it be an interview, where I'll be grilled on my plans - or will it be more of an open conversation, where I can ask questions aswell?
If it is an interview - what questions do you think I'll face AND IF NOT do you have any question suggestions for me to ask that you feel newbies always forget!
Any help would be massively appreciated!

I think I had an quick phone interview with 1 of the affiliates networks I applied to in late 2014 ... was just two minutes of easy conversation and confirming some of my information. I can not say how it will be in your particular case, but I doubt they will "grill you on your plans". I think it's more about confirming your phone number and that you're a real human being

Yep, Kepe95's explanation is in line with what I went through with a couple networks. I was asked high level questions on what kind of mobile marketing I wanted to do, what Geos I was targeting, when I was going to get started, etc. Whole thing took 5 minutes and the rest of the call was me seeking tips from the AM on what was converting well now.

Just be honest with them. They basically just wanna see that you're a real person and you're not trying to rip them off. Afifiliate networks deal with a TON of fraud.

It was a really short chat, with just a few questions. Good news is, I've got accepted into my first affiliate network!
