Facebook Ads, Google Play and Direct linking. What are the odds?

Hi,

I am fairly new to Facebook Ads and I would like to receive some insights, tips and advices on how to run campaigns there 100% whitehat.

I already did some tests for my local business, so I know how Facebook Ads is working. The challange is that I only have 1 Facebook account. I want to run Google Play App download offers with direct linking to the offer page (some geo and device redirection before direct linking).

I want to avoid anything that is blackhat because I do not want to risk my account. Do you guys think that if I go this way I can maintain my Facebook account? What are the odds that I get banned doing this? What are the possible reasons that they could bann my account setting up campaigns like this? (I really don't want to loose my Ads account.)

Any other tips to keep in mind?

Thanks,
Zoltan

In theory you should be fine but you can lose accounts regardless of what you run. If you are not prepared to deal with losing accounts then move on.

Very interested to this thread!
We need more details about promoting affiliate offers on Facebook 100% whitehat!

There's no such thing as 100% whitehat on Facebook. If you promote ANY offer, no matter what it is you can still lose accounts.

All you can do is to try your best to be compliant but there is no way to be 100% safe against being banned

You should also set up a Business Manager account and create a second account just for the affiliate campaigns via the ads account section. This way you separate the campaigns a little.

Pushing mobile app installs/games/etc. is fine, you just have to be very, very mindful of the technical back-end with affiliate links, geo-redirection, etc. This is what will burn 95% of people new to the game who try to run whitehat.

HI Zeno,

facebook frowns upon this practice?
making it possible to scale this technique (geo-redireccion)?
there is no way to run affiliate links on facebook 100% "whitehat"?

thanks for your time

Which practice? If you mean making new ad accounts for your campaigns in the Business Manager, then no, they want you to do that.

If you mean geo-redirection, what FB wants is for every user, ever, to go to the same, compliant page. Geo-redirection by networks screws with this so you have to do things yourself to prevent them causing issues. Read the section in my FB guide about geo-redirection, that should clear things up a bit.

Not sure what you mean. Geo-redirection is also just a normal part of any tracking setup in any campaign.

Sure, if the offer is fine, the affiliate network links don't do any geo-based redirection, and the affiliate network domains aren't blacklisted.

Don't rely on any of these things but the first. If the offer is credible and compliant, YOU should make sure the latter things don't matter, by using a tracking system and understanding how to redirect traffic yourself.
