dealing with errant affiliate networks
most affiliate networks out there are great, but once in a while we chance upon some.... yea, so what is your approach?
here are some issues
1. they pay very very slowly, we went direct to the same advertiser and the money is already paid to us, while they have not yet paid us yet. whats the point of an affiliate network who pays slower than direct? the money we earnt on 1 june 2015 is not paid as of today 28 jul 2015.
2. they are deducting $$$ for their mistakes, such as offer capping but they are still sending us leads, and then coming back to say it is our fault for not pausing the campaign when it capped. there was no system notification of cap, and the cap was network wide, which means that maybe it could have capped earlier if someone was running it, but we relied on the affiliate network postback to keep running.
3. their support is poor, essentially everything that other affiliate networks have already done (banner approval, payout bumps), are not done by this errant affiliate network. their reasons are ridiculous and unimportant.
here is the issue, we are definitely not working with them again, but
1. we want our money there back, we are not sure if its coming back. its very easy for them to come up with some reason for non payment, such as offer capped since forever, or they saw some one particular uncompliant thing we might have accidentally run.
2. while the monies they deduct are small, if we allow them to do that, next time we have affiliate networks coming in to do the same ridiculous things to us.

This is really unfortunate. I've never encountered problems like these because up until now I've only worked with reputable aff networks (keeping my fingers crossed). But if I were you, I would not complain to them or point any fingers or make accusations - since you're never going to work with them again anyways. I'd probably tell them something like, "I'm seeing promising results in promoting your offer and want to scale big, but I'm running into some cashflow issues - could you please send payment ASAP to help me with this problem?" I hate to lie but if someone tries to wrong me first, then sorry buddy.

Like I said above, I wouldn't risk getting them all riled up. If they get pissed off and decide not to pay you at all, there's little you can do unless you want to take them to court (and even then you may not win because there are probably clauses in their TOS that protect them in this type of situation). Coax them into giving you the money you deserve, even if it's not quite the full amount, and leave them without a backwards glance - that's what I would do!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you...
Amy
EDIT: Just want to make one thing clear - not knowing exactly what happened, I could not and was not condemning the aff network or siding with either party. I was just telling you what I would do personally if I was in your position, i.e. having already decided to never work with the network again after getting paid.

LOL we already lied, that got us the first payment.
anyway the issue is now resolved. a more experienced guy took over, and now things are better than before, and we actually do want to work with them again, because terms are better than some of the affiliate networks we are already working with
