It's just the beginning. I'm not giving up!
To say that my first few campaigns were complete failures would be an understatement lol.
# Test A
Traffic Source : Decisive
Network : F5
Offer: Omni Swipe
Payout : $0.19 per install
Geo : Brazil
Spent : $4.05
Conversion : $0.19 (1 conversion)
ROI : -95.31%

Aftermath :
1. I learned A LOT about photoshop.
- I was never an expert at graphic design to begin with. But having to create multiple banners - I basically forced myself to look for different free tools/brushes/logos etc to help with the process
2. Stole some banners from What Runs Where.
- Stole some, edited them to my liking and the one I 100% scrapped led to a conversion lol
3. Decisive has quite low traffic for these 2 geos that I ran so I had to increase my bid.
4. My CTRs are within the range of 1.xx%-2.xx%. They are a little on the lower end, and that only tells me that I need to make my banners more eye catching.

Be careful with 360 and make sure you get traffic checkups daily when it gains steam - the retention rates on it nearly took me out a while back.
They weren't going to pay any of my revenue... until I kicked up a stink and they "rechecked".

The Decisive traffic planner is not accurate at all anymore, Amy. They've been having issues with one of their exchange partners (I assume Smaato) for the past month, and have a significant decrease in Android traffic. For Indonesia for example, I couldn't spend $1/day with a 0.10CPM bid, which is above average according to their planner. They also don't have either BBM placements (320x50 and 300x250), which means at least 50% of traffic in Indonesia is gone.
My recommendation for you, Wanderlust, is to not necessarily switch geos, but switch DSP. Go2Mobi is generally regarded as very good when it comes to features offered, and they also have some high volume exchanges you can run on, including Smaato.
Good luck!
Manu.

Omni Swipe hasn't been converting nearly as well as the old one, Lazy Swipe, so not sure if it's the best app for you to get started with. Try to get some cap on Hola Launcher (but keep bugging them to confirm retention rate is OK)

Hey man, Russian on your banners is broken and sounds weird. Here are some fixes.
"получите больше батареи сок" -> "выжми больше из своей батареи"
свободно = free but "free of charge" -> бесплатно
устанавливать change to установить
"медленно телефон?" -> "телефон тормозит?"
"убейте вирусы" -> "убей вирусы"
"нажмите до его слишком поздно" -> "жми пока не поздно"

My AM did warn me about that. I hope they paid you for your traffic! It would really suck if they didn't

Thanks Manu! I do plan to split test on G2M next, I have the $50 free credit after completing a survey of theirs and depositing another $50. Pretty sweet!
And I know what you mean about decisive's planner. I was bidding way more than the average and couldn't get much traffic.
A question, what is BBM? XD

Omni Swipe is a rebrand of Lazy Swipe right? Personally I preferred the old name haha, sounds more catchy
I'll look up Hola Launcher thanks! Anyone having success with it thus far?

Seriously thank you! I did use 1 hour translations for some but some of them were from google translate, which I guess explains the broken language.......
Russian texts are LONG Hahahaha

BBM = BlackBerry Messenger. It's a high volume placement on Smaato, and it being gone made me connect the dots and say Smaato is the exchange partner Decisive has some issues with. I'm 90% sure your lack of traffic even with a higher bid is because of this issue with their exchange(s).
For Go2Mobi, make sure you also get an account manager to help you out with some things. You can get your questions answered much quicker that way.

Interesting. I didn't know there were still people using BBM these days lol.
I do have an account manager at G2M, she seems quite good so far. Interface wise I also highly prefer them to Decisive

Wow lots of helpful tips from everyone!
Thanks Manusit I didn't know about the situation at Decisive (not an expert in mobile). I suspect you're being kind and conservative when you said BBM consists of at least 50% of all ID mobile traffic lol! When we were running privacy guard during zeno's 6-week course it was like the only big placement.
Hopefully using what I've learned so far, I will be able to improve. I know App Installs are not as "hot" as before, but I wanna get a good grasps of the whole thing before moving on to other verticals. Pin submits seem to look interesting
The motivation for me here is not only just money (obviously $$$$ is always good), by I am genuinely interested in AM I love testing stuff and dealing with numbers
You'll go real far with that attitude.
Amy

1. Get VPN app on your phone or emulator on your computer.
2. Install those apps on your phone or on the emulator.
3. Start VPN for the country you want to spy in.
4. Go through apps.
I thikn Google might keep in mind the country you have your Google Play account for and VPN is not enough.
Anyway, with this you will see also what people are running in those countries on those placements. There are several tutorials around here for spying. Hit me up on Skype if you want to chat more about this.
