Wanting to Actually Network this Time! ASE
Hey hey,
So I have been in the game for years and have gone to 5 or 6 Affiliate Summits, but always end up feeling like I didn't really make any great connections.
I read the post about getting ROI on a conference so thought I would post for some help.
Who should I even try to connect with if I am an affiliate running traffic?
Traffic sources of course, but it seems like it is mostly the same ones at each conference.
I set meetings up with my reps at traffic sources and networks, and that has helped in the past. I just feel like I could be doing more.
Anyone have some good ideas?
Thanks!!

First things first - break down what you did at your last show:
Do you go in with a solid game plan? Were you prepared? What goals did you set?
If you found you're saying no to these questions, then why not? Try and source your won barriers.
In planning for your next show, some tips:
Setting up meetings with reps is a great start, but what is your goal with the meetings? I always like to set at least 2 or 3 goals for what I want to get out of a meeting - so that it's targeted and on point. This will help you maximize your time at the show and ensure that every meeting helps you grow.
If you've already read the post about getting ROI on a conference, then you've seen some great tips - but
A LOT of the work to benefit off the show will also be done afterwards: Following up.
Following up with reps you met, or Affiliate Managers will ensure that you're connecting on the effort you put in at the show - it's always easier to monetize that relationship when both sides have put a face to the name, shaken hands and been able to connect. As well, following up after the show can get you a more meaningful connection - AM's and Reps for the most part are going full tilt for the whole conference, they're going to meet a tonne of people and get a tonne of business cards - being proactive and reaching out post-show can really give you a leg up on making those
meaningful connections you said you're missing out on.
Last little tip, is try and connect with some mastermind groups - there's a BUNCH of them obviously on STM - but getting the chance to meet with other Affiliates and connect with them is going to help you go the extra mile, especially when you can turn that meeting/connecting into a relationship where you're able to spitball ideas and throw things back and forth longterm.
I rambled a bit here, but hopefully ASE 2015 will be your best show yet twoj!
