Email List.....apartment hunters

Curious if anybody knows where to find email list for individuals actively looking to rent an apartment?

Does Zillow, apartment.com, trulia, etc sell there recent subscriber emails to list brokers or directly?

I am almost sure they will not sell you their list. They may be open to having your market to their list but they would be very selective and protective of their audience, and rightly so.

Makes sense. Any additional thoughts on where to get a list?

quickest way (definitely not the best) is to acquire list from site such as craig list and similar sites.
these are very low quality lists where a lot of Network wont allow to use to promote their offers. probably a lot of the emails there weren't captured legit.

best way for me is to create some groups in social networks for people who are looking to rent apartments and create an LP to capture their email.
that way it might take a while to create a BIG list but you will know that this list is top quality.

Appreciate the response and great ideas.. how are you getting emails from craiglist? they're obfuscated....

If anyone has any ideas, I'm willing to compensate you for your effort

It depends on what you are trying to do.

Are you interested in potentially marketing other services for which they would have opted into and are related to moving? E.g. moving services, utilities/phone/broadband switching, etc.

If yes, you should be able to negotiate a co marketing agreement with many legitimate data owners like the ones you have mentioned, as long as it is commercially attractive for both parties.

Yes, a consumer rental history report, similar to a personal credit history, but with additional rental type history data points.

It's ideally a pre-rental purchase ie those looking for an apartment.

Is this a product that the tenant would buy or that the landlord would buy? I would think it is more of the latter, in which case I am not sure a list of renters would help you much, even if you got hold of one.

We sell to both. Consumers purchase this to make sure there are no surprises, like previous evictions showing, poor rental payment history, criminal, etc., etc.

The core principle being to empower renters with the same tenant screening information landlords have. Our core demo is a subprime consumer.

Maybe you can buy retargeting on sites like https://www.rentify.com/
