Creative Approval On Affiliate Netwokrs

Hey everyone,

Just a question regarding creative approval on networks.

Ive just prepared a new batch of creatives and sent them off to 3 different networks all running the same offer.

- Network 1 came back and said all 3 landers should be fine, and that i could run them.
- Network 2 came back and said only one of my landers could be run, the other 2 could not be.
- Network 3 emailed all my creatives to the advertiser and said that none of my landers could be run due to X reason.

Anyone know what's going on and is this common? I thought there'd be some consistency in approvals because its for the same offer from the same advertiser but obviously it's not happening, can anyone shed some light here?

I get this ALL the time. Would be curious to hear what others think.

Good question - there's a bunch of variables that can be involved here, including whether or not the network you're working with has the offer direct.

If the offer isn't direct, they could be working with an advertiser that has other restrictions on their traffic, or have a different agreement with the AOR - it happens.

To be honest, a lot of networks do things different but the same - so your best bet is to ask WHY, and keep asking why until you get an answer.

Specifically: Was there any feedback on the two networks that rejected creatives? IF there wasn't, I would just ask your AM what you need to do to get the creatives approved - push them to get answers.

Awesome, thanks Henry. Ill hit up my Am's and try and get some better answers, and also run a few little tests on my affiliate links and see if there's any redirects going on (using a brokered offer)

Could also be that:
The first network approved your creatives without asking the advertiser. Thats a fast answer but if not based on an advertiser feedback could cause problems in the future.
The second network also approved without the advertiser but gave the feedback based on their thoughts.
The third network asked the advertiser...

As Henry said, there can be a few possibilities.

It can also be that they all asked the advertiser but they had different people telling them different things...

Ask your AMs to see if they can give you a bit more elaborated feedback.

Yeah, it has been common for me already in my short time in IM. Seems dumb but it's part of the game. There is so much approval required throughout the entire process that there's a ton of inconsistency. People responsible for approving often need to make quick decisions, and in the case of ad networks, are probably bored out of their mind, half asleep, sitting there approving dumb images all day, so sometimes it seems like it's completely random what gets in and what doesn't.

Thanks for the extra insight everyone.

Just a bit of a follow question.

- Before being accepted to run quite a few offers im being asked to agree to this sentence.

" 1.Using of illegal or misleading creatives or others that violate google ad policy will cause you penalty of $5000."

Would getting your creatives approved by the network cover your ass in this situation?

If i were to use some creatives that were approved by my affiliate manager that later caused problems for the advertiser, am i liable for this or does the Ad network take the hit and the responsibility since they reviewed and approved my creatives?
