$4K to $400K - Stage 1 - Building an Audience + Product Launch for Brazilian Market (11)

This story is not to brag not even for some sort of validation. It's all lessons learned from self experience.

My name is Roy and I'm from Mozambique. Just another dude who fell in love with Internet Marketing. I'm currently studying Petroleum Engineering and undergoing an internship program in KL, Malaysia. I was a nerd when I got that Petronas Scholarship hehe.

It all started in a 2-week trip to Bali, Indonesia on May this year. After stumbling upon a book called the Game, I then went travelling with my classmates and thought it might be a good chance to practise what was in the book. Take massive action. I went to Kuta beach practise what I learned and hit the best nighlife venues there. In the first 3 days, I failed massively. Tons of rejections and I even got insulted by an Aussie girl for being rude.

It was fairly easy for me to give up with that massive failure but instead I read the book again to see what I was doing wrong. Day by day things got even better, I had my first
"same night lays" with a mixed Estonian and Spanish girl...wow that was awesome. After hundreds of rejections, I finally made it. But still, I wasn't comfortable, I kept on finding another pickup sources and eventually a guy called fader from LOVE SYSTEM told me about a guy called Julien RSD. I was broke so I ended up torrenting his products and digested every piece of information from his products and I combine with massive action after I got back from Bali to Kuala Lumpur.

I committed to spend 30min every day to take action and reading the material together. Still I was getting rejections, however, I started seeing paterns and spiced up my game right away to match the patterns. Today, I'm still working on my game, In the last 60 days, I only have slept with 5 hot women (6-8) from everywhere, my game is awful but due to the amount of action I took, I believe I'm better than an average person and I have debunked a lot of marketing hype and myths that we buy fom the media.

Things like:
You need to be rich to get a hot woman and own a ferrari (I just have $4K in my bank account and I used the free bus to save)
You must have good looks and woman love white people (shit, I'm black, non-native english speaker, 1m 70, average looking but I'm making it)
You must be muscular and fit, this may be a little bit valid but (shit, I don't go to the gym, im a little bit fit though)
A lot of other stuffs that I forget

Now, I'm kinda realizing that internet marketing is pretty much like pickup. Here is what I think I learned:
- Not having a decent amount of money sometimes is an excuse for not starting taking action.
- Reading is good but without combined action, it is useless. I still see people reading tons of online stuffs but shit, started from the bottom, they still there. why? No action.
- Massive action is the real shit and regardless your race, where are you from, it does not matter, it works as long as you do your homework and take action.
- There is not such things as mistakes, they are only lessons (I gotta quote big sean for this)

This whole pickup thing has helped me see things differently (pls don't judge me hehe), and I'm more confident than who I was 2 months ago. Therefore, I have decided to start my follow along campaign and turn that $4K into $400K or more than that. You never know.

My plan build an audience for my SEO blog from paid traffic > launch my SEO product in 4 months > start providing seo services > travel to brazil > get citizenship > become Julien of Brazil

So the title of the follow up is build audience from paid traffic. Please help me out, I will be as transparent as possible. Still writing the follow up, Thanks if you made this far.

Don't worry about how you are currently is, just focus on your long term life, don't think about ferrari and lambo(big fan of BMW) and women.. Those things will come by the time and taking action.

Overview: I'm planning to build an audience so that I can sell an SEO product. I have create a free e-book, the title is how to create a professional website in 30 minutes without HTML knowledge. I want to use the free e-book to collect e-mail. I will them follow up with a series of how to make money from their websites. Make money from websites isn't a new thing, but I have noticed only a portion of brazilian know about it so I see an untapped market that I can sell. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Goal: Collect 1,000 e-mails
Budget: $1000 (adjustable as I go, I have no idea if this is enough)

Mailing: Aweber

I have created my facebook. But I haven't yet, started my campaign. Before, I read the Zeno FB guide and I'm quite confused about how to set up a campaign.

This is what I understood so far:


1) Is my concept of campaign setup correctly. If not, what should I change? Here is the "anyone can edit" Google slides -> Link here

2) I'm testing different interests, do you have any sources of what interests is likely to convert? I believe my ideal e-mail is from someone who wants to make money online because at the end of the day I will teach through SEO.

3) Do I only need 3 images to split test for list building? Do I really need to go over board and test more images?

4) I'm in the process of creating landers. I've watched the tutorial on how to use adobe muse, but the guide doesn't include how to incorporate an optin box on it. Any sources?

5) Do I need a thirdy-party tracker for tracking conversions? Which one would you recommend? Or facebook can track it.

From your diagram it seems like you are mixing way too many variables at once. Not sure if you tried to make a "state" diagram or a "process" diagram...

I guess it's more or less an attempt at creating a "process" diagram... if that's the case don't forget to create the "state" diagram corresponding (you'll need it anyway to create your FB Ad-sets), because if you do it the way you're describing it, you will end up with a GAZILLION Ad-Sets.

e.g. you have :

3 age range
3 interests
3 images
3 headlines
3 body copy

That's already 243 Ad-Sets you'll need.

If you start out with just 1 interest that's still : 81 Ad-Sets.

And if you invest just $5/day par Ad-Set well, you'll do the math and conclude it's quite ugly ;-)

Now I don't have a solution, I came to this precise conclusion in my Follow Along, and I haven't had any clear tip on how to proceed.

Only thing I've found common to what most Facebookers here recommend is more or less : "get a decent headline and body copy but don't split test it right away"... i.e. get crazy with headlines and body copy split testing only once you've found your real "audience" (i.e. what interests and age range work) as well as identified a baseline image getting acceptable CTR.

So you can probably start with :
3 age range
3 interests
3 images (all with the same baseline headline/body copy)

That's already 27 Ad-sets...

Yes, maybe I asked too many questions, the most important ones were answered thanks.

I ended up subscribing to leadpages, for a newbie like me I feel way more comfortable creating landing pages with leadpages to capture e-mails.

Then comes the bad news:
After I create my ad sets, my ads were pending review. Facebook told me to add a payment method. OK, I did. And after that I receive a notification saying that Facebook noticed an unusual activity in my account, therefore ads should be paused until I confirm my identity. Then, they threw me with a questionnaire, where I had to submit my identification card. I sent them. How long should I wait until this is solved

How screwed am I (0-10)? Is this very common and how do I get around this situation. Thanks in advance
