But what does this acronym stand for?

E = European
M = Mobile
M = Mastermind
A = Addicts

So why another mm group? Because I actually couldn’t find one that I a) liked and b) was in my time zone. Thanks @gracie2339 nevertheless ;-)

Goal and purpose

The purpose of this group is find people who are just starting out in mobile AM and want to follow the mobile cookbook approach. I myself am currently launching my first campaign after lurking around here a few months. I’d like to connect with people who are at a similar stage. Maybe one or two a little more experienced marketers but we shouldn’t be too far away in terms of knowledge.

I personally would like to start with Decisive as a traffic source so I think it could interesting to have people using the same traffic source. However, I would say this is not a precondition as long (important!) as you stick to your chosen traffic source until you have mastered it.

From my point of view this group should consist of 6 to 8 people (including me of course ;-)

So what skills should be in this mm group?

I think a combination of the following talents would be great. Following a “basic”, “advanced” and “expert” categorization, I have labeled my experience with B, A, E or 0 if I personally do not have that skill

• photoshop or similar design tool skills (E)
• webdesign, e. G. Adobe Muse or HTML5, CSS (B)
• programming, especially scripting like JavaScript etc. (0)
• creative thinking and coming up with new and innovative angles (A)
• analytic thinking e. G. Number crunching and / or Excel (E)
• English language skills (A)

In addition I think one should not be too shy or afraid of conflicts. A respectful and open but direct discussion is much more worth than the oh so modern political correctness.

I also think that people from different countries in the group would be of great benefit, because I know from own experience that e. G. Within Europe there are already big differences between for example Germany (where I come from), UK, France or Italy. I think all of us can benefit if we’re talking about these differences and include them in our angles.

In terms of funds I think that the recommended $1,000 for the appetizer approach are fine, however, more is of course always better. In the end, nobody will control your funds but you should be able to actively participate in the group discussions and therefore I think you’ll have to run campaigns, campaigns, campaigns.

As the timezone always was a big issue when I wanted to join other groups, I would really prefer if we could stick to the name of this group (remember the first letter? ;-) and make this something in the European timezones.

I myself am in CEST (UTC+2) and I would prefer something +/-3 hrs around that. I’m quite honest here: I’m currently employed full time and have a family of four, therefore simply not every time is possible (once I have enough fuck you money, see below, that may change)..

One more thing before we come to EMMA’s set of rules: I would really love to have a mixture of boys and girls as I personally do believe that men and women approach things sometimes very different. I know that AM seems to be a quite masculine thing but I would still like it very much if we could have female input as well.

EMMA’s commandments




1. Thou shalt have a dynamic leader

There’ll be a role of EMMA’s steward. This role act as a kind of chairman / chairwomand and will change from week to week.

We will meet for 2 hours once per week and EMMA’s steward will not only be part of the group but in addition will have the following duties:

• organization: the steward is early in the call, will check who’s there (and who’s not - see below) and officially start the meeting
• focus: the steward is responsible for sticking to the chosen topics (see EMMA’s second commandment below)
• time: EMMA’s steward is the master / mistress of the agenda. He will remind each person when it’s time to come to an end (gently of course
• documentary: The steward is in charge for documenting important topics, decisions and tasks

2. Thou shalt not chit chat

As much as everyone likes chatting, I think it is quite important to at least for some time of the meeting stick to given topics. We may have something like 20 minutes of chatting at the end.

3. Thou shalt follow a given structure

After your application (more on that below) you will receive a link to a Google doc with topics to talk about (and your ideas as well). We will - based on that list - make a decision on the first meeting, what topics we will discuss every time (e. G. Current campaigns, angles, tools used, tracking etc.). This will determine the groups agenda in which we will have time slots for every topic and every group member.

In addition, this document will hold some suggestions in terms of timing (when will we meet…)

I will also set up a dropbox for the group and also general google docs for the group to which everyone of EMMA’s true followers will have access to. All important things for the group should be saved / documented here.

4. Thou shalt not interrupt thy sister / brother

Please let everyone finish even if you think that the person takes a long time to explain something. Remember that everyone of us is different and there are people more and less patient and each of these is of equal value to the group.

If you want to comment something and fear to forget it while one of thy comrades is speaking, simply write it down.

5. Thou shalt check thy devices upfront

Doing something like 10 to 15 virtual meetings every week in my profession please Please PLEASE ensure UPFRONT, if your devices (mic, cam if you want to use it) are working. Having a fixed time frame it is really annoying to spend the first 10 minutes of every meeting to figure this out in front of thy brothas and sistas.

3. !IMPORTANT! This group has a strict “no attendance policy” —> if you miss one group call unexcused, you will receive a yellow card, the second time you miss it unexcused you’re kicked out. Sounds harsh, I know, but I think it is in the sense of all of EMMA’s knights, if we keep this group as productive as possible.

If you can’t make it to a group call (because you’re on vacation, have family issues or whatever) let us know upfront, not 5 minutes before the call. The group altogether may also decide to kick someone out, if this person hinders the groups progress

4. I just recently purchased my ticket to Affiliate World Asia in Bangkok in December. Would be great to meet some of you guys over there if possible so I’m curious if you will be going as well?

5. I will share my face on the screen, if you want to, please let the others know, if you’d like to do that as well. I use my webcam a lot in my profession as a procurement manager and I have discovered, facial impression and body language DO support constructive communication)

This mm group is so attractive, I like your point of views, non the less, I love your hardcore productivity approach to this mm group, as I think a lot of mm groups lacks this sort of strict but at the same time understood set of rules.

Allow me to elaborate about myself and answer your questions below!

Q:Where do you come from and what is your background?
A: I come from Denmark, Copenhagen (Time zone #Check). I finished studying a year ago. I'm 20 years old, I work a lot (AM full time). I'm driven, hungry and a mature lad, but also with a sense of humor. Experience wise, we most likely match. I have been making xxxx/day and currently am making xxx/day. Thou, this has not been on mobile, and I therefore consider our experience level in the niche you are describing equal. But I do other than that feel like I have a lot to add to the group. I'm creative, full of ideas and positive. I like discussion and have no problem receiving critique. I have been doing AM for about a year, and I travel a lot. I might move to bangkok in october and in that case, it is most likely that we will run into each other at affiliate world Asia :-). I have full avaibility to communicate via skype or other sources, and also I think the meetings combined with webcams aswell, sounds like a lot fun, and it's a good idea, that I am open towards. I am quite experienced marketing in facebook, native display ads and media buys! If you feel like you need to know anymore about me, simply just inquire, please!

Q:Why mobile?
A: Mobile has boomed, and it's such a big market! I've mostly only been doing desktop, mostly in the gambling niche, and it's going well, but I WANT and NEED to get into mobile. There's a lot of possibility and the possibility to scale across a lot of markets is huge. I will also be using decisive as traffic source, and I got accepted into a fair few good networks also, so everything is more or less ready. I would love to work with mobile in a mm group.

Been off to a rough start with this, not even launched a campaign. Still in the "picking an offer" phase. Don't ask...

Q:Where do you come from and what is your background?
I'm situated in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium: Flanders. I'm 37, got 2 young kids, a wife, a dog, a cat, 2 cars and a house I started online marketing in 2007, doing mainly adult SEO. I never earned tons of money, but it helped me doing other things in life. After panda/penguin updates I decided to do webdesign and marketing services for SME and from there on I rolled into freelance consulting for large enterprises, which is what I did the last few years. Freelancing in digital media and SEA (AdWords & Google Analytics certified "expert"), that is. Pays quite well, but is boring too. My latest gig ended in June, got money saved up for this and time to spend as well. I still have smaller gigs here and there, but nothing 4 days a week for 6 months at this point.

Q:Why mobile?
It's where it's at. It's as simple as that. Where not even seeing 10% of the possibilities right now.

I am from Ukraine, in AM about 1 year. Have strong development background. I started from FB & Forex, was making low xxx/day until fb decided to ban money-making niche. After it i still finding good source/vertical/type of traffic. You can check my latest follow along. I have more experience with pops/redirects, but now i am starting to master banners & CPI.

Because in mobile there are much more variables that affects ROI. And as we all know mobile is growing, other devices - not.

1.I am 34 yr old man,from london england UTC+1,and I work full time in IT support. I'm pretty new to AM I have been lurking on STM for a couple months launched a few campaigns but nothing profitable in adult dating. great introduction post, makes me quite optimistic that this might become a very productive mastermind

I'm from Germany, highly motivated, full time committed and thanks to my previous "job" (I was a professional online poker player for 6 years) I already know quite a few successful people in affiliate marketing, who have helped me a lot with getting started - and fortunately still do. I spent a fair bit of time in Bangkok, but right now I'm in Germany so the time zone will be ideal.

AM: I launched smaller campaigns but mostly with tiny budgets to gain technical experience and get a feel for the setup. The one "real" campaign I launched shortly ago was taken off a day after. I'm approved on a few good networks and traffic sources.

Mobile? - Literally every single experienced affiliate I spoke to suggested mobile to me. And also the obvious answers.. growing.. the future.. etc.

Love the intro to this mastermind, I would love to join. I've been looking at a few and am drawn to this one. I feel with this structure + ground rules, it will be an amazing incubator for progress.

About myself - I'm a recent engineering graduate from the UK and currently working full time. However I'm aiming to dedicate the majority of my free time to AM. I pride myself on my analytical skills, my drive , and ability to take action. I'm totally new to AM so at this phase of my journey am like a sponge. I'm ready to learn, make mistakes, fall and get back up again! I've been accepted into a few affiliate networks and I'm looking forward to talking to my affiliate manager tomorrow to pick my first offer!

Why mobile - after doing my research, it seems mobile is a fantastic place to start for beginners - whilst also having massive potential. (Having the mobile cookbook as a guide helps aswell )
