What is Cloaking and Why Is it Needed
Hi mates,
Sorry for my newbie question,
While I was checking out the threads on facebook and Adwords traffic source, I stumble upon this expression called "cloaking".
I keep wondering What is Cloaking and Why Is it Needed in Facebook and Adwords? Sorry, I can't find an accurate answer
Cheers

Cloaking is a way of hiding your landing page and/or offer.
Essentially it works like this... Someone tries to go to your landing page BUT you don't want them to go there. You "cloak" your landing page by having rules set up which redirect that person to another page instead of your landing page.
In the cases you mentioned - think ad approval teams etc

I don't get it, why would you not want someone to go to your landing page and why would you redirect them sone where else??
