Journey of 1000 miles begins with 1st step! Goal of $10/day

Hi All,

I have been reading about affiliate networks since past two years but never took any sort of action to make it up to success. But after lot of thinking have thought will take action this time and will try to stick the plan.

I am starting this follow along for the same purpose. Because once I start here, people will motivate me and even I will be committed to the forum.

Brief background: I am a full time digital marketing guy for a startup. I am pretty good at adwords and analytics. Also good in keyword analysis and copy writing. But my knowledge is no where near to the knowledge of this group members. So I am stepping into Aff network with bit of knowledge and hope of learning new things with fun and at the sametime make some money as well stand out from the typical crowd.

Okay coming back my progress.

So far I have spent most of my day in Newbie Zone and Mobile zone. I have learnt few basic things about split testing, tracking, affiliate network and ad networks.

Progress:
1. Getting into Affiliate network: I got into few of affiliate networks like NeverBlue, Matomy, A4D, F5 Media, Peerfly.

2. Buying traffic: And also have signed up for traffic networks like Decisive and funded decisive account with $100.

3. Tracking: I will be using Voluum for July and then will be moving to Adsbridge as its free for now. [ Otherwise you guys can suggest me some free tools which can be hosted on my VPS.. Also I am quite low on budget for CPVlab for now]

4. Niche: I am planning to start with Mobile. Mobile Cookbook shall be my tutorial for the entire course [please guide me if its updated and if it doesnt work anymore]

I am stuck with finding the right offer to promote. I have been searching the offer from past 1 week. I am literally stuck here. I guess I have to choose one and get some 10 creative banners and get my first campaign live.

So my to do for this week will be

1. Pick one offer [Tier 2 or Tier 3 with less pay out [Below $1] ]
2. Come up with few angle to market
3. Create 10 banners for the campaign
4. Learn tracking in depth.
5. Setup tracking
6. Start my first campaign with right targeting and split testing in Decisive network.
[Start my first campaign]

My goals for July 2015 would be
- Getting myself comfortable with the networks/ offers
- Make 5 good friends in STM
- Get in good relationship with Affiliate managers.
- start at least 5 campaigns
- coming up with angles
- Getting myself comfortable with PS.
- Creating banners
- Learn targeting: Targeting the right matrix
- Understand how to read the data [ analysis from the clicks, impression, conversions]
- reach a positive ROI for at least one offer
- Finish Ca$hvertising and My Personal MBA.
- Churn STM to the fullest.
- Also to reach $10/day by end of July (may be its too fast, but at least will keep this goal)

I will keep posting about my journey here from this follow along. I will be posting the offers I selected, the traffic, my banners, angles, creatives, targeting, so that I will be in touch with you all. As well as you can help me up if I am in the wrong direction.

Hoping to receive good support, motivation and help from other fellow STM members. Thank you

Hi Raviraj, sounds like a good plan. Good luck!

1. I notice you will be using Voluum and then will switch to something else.
If you already know that you will stop using it next month, then why put effort into learning it?

2. You say you are stuck picking an offer.
Talk to your AM about what you are looking for and have them help you.

Also learn how to spy so you can confirm if others are indeed running the offer which your AM is recommending.
And see where it is being run, and how people are running it.
Try to go in with as much confirmation as possible that your offer is indeed working for others so you are not taking blind guesses.

3. I don't want to derail your plan but I wonder why you are going for mobile DSP traffic considering you already have good experience and knowledge about adwords.
It's not my area but a lot of people seem to be doing well with Pay Per Call on adwords (checkout the subforum).

Hi Mindfume,

Thanks for the heads up.

1. Yeah completely makes sense. Its simply waste of time learning something if I wouldnt be using.

2. I did goto Affiliate manager and asked for the top CPI offers, then I did research and found all of them had negative reviews. So I am stuck there.

3. Yeah I have started, managed Pay per call campaigns. But I dont know where to get started or how it works. Neither know any offers. Thanks for leading me towards Pay Per call forum. Let me spend some time there and understand the logic.

Thanks a lot again
