Blanking Referrals with SSL (Voluum + Rackspace CDN)
Hey everyone!
After reading several posts on blanking referrals, figured there are two common ways:
- DMR
- Installing SSL on tracker/LP
I'm mainly looking at the
SSL option as this, according to what I read (may be wrong), have lesser click-loss and guarantees (?) blanking of referrals.
However, I have a
problem here:
- Tracker's on Voluum (e.g. track.myvoluum.com)
- LP's on Rackspace CDN. cname record with DNSMadeEasy (e.g. mylpdomain.com/1.html)
Daayaam where am I supposed to "install the SSL" before redirecting to the offer? Correct me if I'm wrong, I can't install on
Voluum yeah? I can't install on Rackspace CDN too yup?
Is my only last option to have a separate domain with SSL installed (e.g.
https://redirect-my-visitor.com/offer.php) and use that as my outgoing link on my LP on rackspace CDN? This link would be a simple 302 redirect to my voluum click link (e.g.
http://track.myvoluum.com/click/1). That way referral would be blanked.
Is there anyone else that had this problem and got it figured out?

Why don't you use SSL with Voluum?
https://track.trackvoluum.com/click/1 and https://track.voluumtrk.com/click/1 work for me.
In regards to SSLed landing pages, I use CloudFront CDN with custom domain/SSL certificate (Rackspace should work as well).
