What the hell is a Geo?

So I'm a total noob applying to F5 Media and they emailed me with some questions. One of the questions is: "Any Geo's you prefer to work with or specific verticals?". My question is what the hell is a Geo? I typed it in on the STM search and didn't find anything. Thanks in advance.

Geo stands for "Geography"

You can answer in terms of continents: South America, Europe, Southeast Asia. Or you can just say which countries you prefer.

A GEOgraphical location, in this particular case, a country, set of countries or region.

May be defined by their language: US/CA/UK/AU/NZ

May be a region: APAC (Asia Pacific), LATAM (Latin America).

May just be a country: BR / IN / MX

Hope it helps

A "GEO" is short for a "Geometry".

It's a well-known fact that landing pages have widely varying conversion rates based on the number and type of geometrical shapes included on them.
Thus it's always a great idea to test a lot of different "geos" and make sure your offers match the kind of geos you're planning to use.

@dr_ngo or somebody else.... But i want to decide the GEO when i see the offer... Isnt that smarter because i think not all offers work in each country as good right?

you don't need to tell the affiliate network about any specific geo. just say you can work with any geo. then once you are in you decide which offers you wanna work with. these are standard questions they ask everyone. in case you already specialize in any specific country like UK only traffic.

Exactly. We ask these questions so that we can get a feel for what you have worked with in the past and what you are looking at doing. There is no wrong answer, It just lets us know more about you. The more we know, the better we can gauge the fit onto our network. When applying to a network, honesty is the best policy.

You dont decide the GEO you work with with every offer. Each offer has its own GEOs its accepting traffic from. If an offer accepts traffic from various GEOs - you can choose to promote it in one of them.

If you have a preferred GEO - let your AM know and he will help you find suitable offers for you.
