What Kraken.io plan do you choose?

I have recently signed up for Kraken.io and had some nice reductions in file size (approx. 25% on average)...

My raw files which I put into Kraken have been already in the range of 4 to 7 kB... So I wonder, would the Micro plan be sufficient (max 500 MB upload per month)?

What is your experience with Kraken?

Thanks in advance!

Hey,

I know it's not exactly what you asked but from what I and others tested in a mastermind, Optimzilla (http://optimizilla.com/) outpeforms Kraken. Might worth giving it a try, hope it helps

Manu.

Thanks manu for your comment.

Looks interesting especially since it's free. Will test it against Kraken.io and post results here.

EDIT: Aaaahh... during the test I saw that Optimizilla is not capable of optimizing GIFs --> deal breaker, because especially animated GIFs are sometimes in the desperate need of some optimization...

I'd be surprised if you went over 500MB a month just compressing animated GIFs for banners, assuming the ones you put in were at least somewhat optimised.

Having said that, it depends on what sort of scale you're working at. How many campaigns are you launching a month?

Hmm... So, if I'm in active development mode I'm launching at least a campaign a day. That campaign will probably mill through 40-odd banners on average (counting the ones I kill quickly as well as the ones that end up with hundreds of banners in the test). And average GIF that I'm putting in will be about 100kb - let's say 150kb to be on the safe side.

0.15 * 40 * 30 = 180MB a month. If I'm doing 2 completely unique campaigns a day - which is going some - then it'd be 360MB.

So unless you're doing a lot more tests than that, I think you'll be OK.

Hi caurmen,

thanks for your feedback. I thought the same way, too. And I'm not one of those super affiliates right now, so I think, it will be good enough. I also would assume I could upgrade once I reach a certain threshold.
