Hi there everyone,
alright... after weeks of sneaking and peaking I think I'm finally ready to run my first campaign. I'm an old Kraut, so it took me some time to finally come to the point I'm at right now... It was quite an interesting journey to this decision. Jumped around and just yesterday I found out that Ifell back into my old habit of looking for a shortcut. But hey, you know what? There's only one shortcut which is going down that route, that all the successful people here on STM travelled before --> it's the don't give up avenue ;-) There's no shortcut to quick money...
Alright, I had an account with F5 already and aldo an account with Decisive, so I decided to try an app install in my own home turf (Germany) --> trying to promote the Hola Launcher app.
I also signed up for WRW and looked what are the most popular creatives for this offer in general as well as in my country. Looks like the approach is quite similar and interesting enough, WRW shows that some english language banners are popular here
(?) Question
- My assumption is that WRW records the most popular banners according to their algorithm so it doesn't matter, if the banners are in English for Germany, right? Because my approach was to alter the angles I saw a little bit and translate them into my mother tongue (German)...
I have also created the creatives already and am eagerly awaiting the approval of the offer in general and of my creatives afterwards.
(?) Question
- Would you recommend a newbie to go through testing with my AM once I'm approved?
Looks like the start of an amazing journey and I'm ready for some serious learning action (don't expect anything green of course but I think I will gain a mass of knowledge)
Will update once the campaign is rolling ... :-)
Phil
It took me quite some time to get things going so here's my first "real" update.
In the meantime I went reading through the appetiser several times and also decided to create a mastermind group myself
<advertising> We founded the EMMA - European Mobile Mastermind Addicts</advertising>
by the way, this was a great experience. We had an initial conversation and already our first round and it is quite insightful.
I also started creating banners and campaign.
Thing was, that I sometimes have difficulties coming up with angles. In the end I created myself a spreadsheet file, where I put in Whitman's Life Force 8 and also the 9 learned desires to come up at least with something to get started.
So far I have accounts at F5, Adsimilis, Affiliaxe, PeerFly and MaxBounty.
I started with some app installs and the funny thing is, it took F5 or better, the publisher like 2 weeks to approve my ads. That was a good learning.
In the meantime I also joined affiliaxe as I saw a lot of good posts from affiliaxeoran around STM.
I then took one of their offers and put it into Go2Mobi. As Go2Mobi has a little higher minimum daily limits and but wayyyy better customization options, I found this a good way to go. Also having a dedicated go to person with Go2Mobi is definitely another bonus.
So here are the banners I created for my 1st campaign (that really went live) - please advise if it's not appropriate to show them here, I'm not 100% sure...

I also set up
I have not yet created landers for those but instead dirct linked them.
So far stats are interesting...

The great thing - as you can see - is that there were two conversions

interestingly enough from the same creative. You never forget that moment of 1st conversion.
So numbers are like this:
Cost: $45.60
Profit $0.96
ROI: -97,89% (at least not -100% which is good for a noob like me ;-) )
next thing I will do is proceed with running campaign and trying to tame that Go2Mobi beast ;-)
I will also follow the cutting process laid out in the appetiser approach. Just try to get used to it and make it more "intuitional" instead of switching between browsers in a "read and apply" mode.
Any feedback is highly welcome!!!!
Hei Kowisoft,
Congratulations on your first campaign! We are on the same network btw.
I absolutely agree that focusing on highly credible network with a dedicated person to go to is a major competitive advantage. I also heard and seen some super affiliates only focusing on a few networks as well (CMIIW). It's like, "better to have a few friends but all of them are bestfriend rather than a lot friends but none of them even care to you"
Anw, I spotted your CPM is quite cheap! Which Geo tier are you targeting to?Is it still Germany? Because I am targeting to tier 2/3 countries and my CPM are all above $.5. But I suspect verticals might highly corelated to standard CPM as well
Congratulations for you initial conversion too! Looking forward to your post updates
Hallo nach Bayern!
I highly recommend translating into German - on FB, 80%+ of high CTR ads are translated into German.
Here's an example:

QUESTION: Do you focus PURELY on ONE angle only when starting a campaign in the "Appetiser" mode or do you take several (like I did)?
KEY LEARNING THIS WEEK: Trust f*cking nobody... (in regards to my employer problem above) and focus on the things you'd love to do. Being motivated through the trouble I had, I really got motivated to kick this AM thing of the ground.
@Angle question: No, more angles from the beginning is better usually. The Appetiser just makes it simpler so you can take in all the info you are getting bombarded with.
cool, thanks...
also for all other guys not being a member of EMMA, I have updated my banners to be more compliant with Go2mobi's guidelines...
