The Road to freedom from the chains of 8-6 (8)

Hi Eustace! Great start to a follow-along!

Split-testing between DL and landing page is a good way to start! For free apps, often DL will be sufficient to gauge how promising the offer is.

For the banners - there's a bit too much text. If I were you, I'd only have 1 sentence on each banner in a bigger font so people can read it easily. When it comes to banner text, often less is more.

Or perhaps make it into an animated banner - and put one sentence in each frame.

An eye-catching image can help a lot! If the visitor doesn't notice your ad, they won't get a chance to read your text. Try spending some time on brainstorming and looking for eye-catching images that are still remotely relevant to your offer (sometimes even totally irrelevant images can work! Only testing will tell.)

Looking forward to your next update!

EDIT: I did a bit of research on Jumia and how it compares to Konga:

http://www.nairaland.com/1546964/kon...-more-reliable

I don't think you can openly put down Konga by pointing out all their short-comings, but the next best thing would be to point out all the things Jumia is doing RIGHT.

e.g. 1: People are complaining about Konga not delivering. You can emphasize that Jumia always delivers without fail (or if you have a percentage like 99% delivery rate, that would be killer!)

e.g. 2: People are complaining about Konga delivering defective goods. You can highlight Jumia's "free returns and exchanges" policy.

I'm starting to see the banner in my mind now....4-frame animated....1 second duration/frame except the last frame with 2 seconds..."We deliver ANYWHERE..." "99.9% On-time Delivery Rate..." "Free Returns and Exchanges..." "Download Jumia Now!"

May want to add "Shop Online?" on each frame to provide context lol.

Also - another good way to come up with angles and headlines, is to read through the playstore reviews for this app. You'll get lots of ideas.

Hi Amy,

Thank you for your comments, I have also taken the time to review what you have done your photoshop tutorial really helped me to make my banner. Will attach it after I have gotten some data from traffic sources Tomorrow.

So Far I made a mistake, I did not know that decisive would actually pause my campaign after they have approved my banners, so I was wondering for the longest time why I had no data on volume, was I doing something wrong ? Rookie Mistake I guess, have uploaded the new Banner based on your tutorial.

Regarding Voluum's newbie plan - there's nothing like a bit of pressure to force you to take action :P

Adding on to what Amy said about your banners, I would also say from first glance that perhaps you might want to look into testing a "call to action" on some of them e.g. a "Click here" or even just a ">>"

I find a lot of people are programmed to push buttons, not text

Related to that - when I looked at your landing page I thought "what the heck am I meant to do here" before I realised the bottom bit was a button.

Nice work on getting the ball rolling!

I feel kinda behind the curve, should I start another campaign. I got 100000 clicks left to spend in a month for a newbie, I think that is alot

Thanks for the compliments on the vid - glad it's helping someone!

$1.27 spend is WAAAAAY too early to ask the question "how do I increase conversions?" (Sorry for typing so many A's...need to emphasize my point.)

The most productive thing you can do at this point would be to brainstorm a bunch of angles (at least 3), create 3 banners per angle (with different headlines) and add them to rotation. You'll need to spend time researching and coming up with good angles. This can make or break your campaign. So be sure to create at least 9 more banners and add them to rotation.

Your new banner is a LOT more eye-catching than your previous ones! However, you'll want to increase the frame durations - I'm one of the fastest readers I know and I still can't keep up!

Looking forward to seeing your next update when you have more stats (a LOT more! )

i would suggest you to start off promoting utility apps. The app you've chosen isnt the best.

I do have one concern: Is your tracking set up properly?

Did you try to browse to your Voluum campaign link to make sure you're redirected to the playstore app page?

Also - have you tried to trigger a conversion manually to make sure it's being recorded? If not, it may be worth the trouble of browsing to your Voluum campaign url and downloading and installing the app to see if a conversion is triggered.

We want to make sure the lack of conversions is because nobody is downloading, and not because of a mistake in the setup.

(If you reach a spend of $10, or at most $15 and STILL don't get a conversion - please pause everything, because chances are that either the offer isn't converting, or your tracking/setup is wrong.)
