The last two of my conversions appear to be from bots.

I knew that bots would click on things, but I didn't know that they would fill out the forms and cause invalid conversions.
This is zeropark traffic and I'm using
Some additional information about the form. It's a simple:
Name
email
confirm email
submit
So I'm sure it's not too hard for a bot to do, just didn't know that they did it
Bots are getting too smart/dumb.
Heh, I am wondering how is this going to end.
Possibly someone running through a VPN? Both of those ISPs have VPN services.
Ah, yes, I suppose it could be that. One of them definitely looks like a bot: windows XP on Firefox 1. But the other does look like it could be a human. I guess I need to inform my AM that these could be bot conversions and see what he says to do about it.
I had the same problem with some Russian dating offers. I saw it across lots of source subids on a few traffic sources. All proxy traffic. I think it was the same browser version too.
I don't know why someone would do this, unless they are intentionally trying to make the source unattractive for competitors.
Yes, this is for a Russian dating offer too!
I am trying not to let this bot thing distract me but as I am in the tech industry and have years of programming experience I am so tempted to get side tracked and start working a bot detection/reporting system for my campaigns. I really don't want to waste time on that though as I'm just ramping up here!
bot detection is a pretty good service if you can provide it.
Yeah, as I get more into AM I'm starting to get a pretty good picture of just how valuable a service like that could be. I'm watching my log file right now as zeropark traffic comes in and I do see bot entries in there. not surprising I know but it would be nice to have an automated system to tell me what percentage of traffic was bot traffic. You know and have a nice web UI to load up and show the stats along with more detailed information about why the system flagged it as bot traffic. Man, already thinking about this too much now. I suppose I could try to do it in my off off hours :-)
Zeropark does refund if you can prove bot traffic.
