I see a lot of threads with people posting about big success with mailing and that's awesome!
I haven't noticed too many people talking about BizOp traffic and I'm wondering if ANYONE out there is having any luck here. I know that most people run through some ESP (especially when it's true opt in). Here's the issues I've had with the ESP's I've tried so far.
- GetResponse - Delivers great, but cancels account like it's going out of style. Difficult to build a business when you could get shut down for any reason, at any time.
-Aweber - Also, obviously, delivers great but is also not "Bizop friendly" and shuts people down left and right.
- Sendlane - they are new, and really good. Like... REALLY good... BUT they aren't allowing BizOp style promotions after July10th.
- iContact - No longer onboarding BizOp and are "permission only" opt in page.
- Maropost - Great setup, but INSANELY expensive and 12 month commitment. That being said, as soon as they see you are sending BizOp they move you to your own dedicated IPs (only 4) and you have the obvious ups and downs from that. Also they are pretty constantly asking for permission reminders in your email headers, along with asking people to add your email address to their whitelist. Ugh...
- MailMinion - Not bad - they seem to allow BizOp, but my last campaign (normally seeing 5-8% in most ESPs) got less than 1% and that's after they removed 20% of my subcribers/ leads because of their systems "assumption" that they were "high risk". One of the lists I was sending to was an openers files...
- Dedicated Solutions -
- EmailDelivered - Like every other dedicated "managed" solution - it had it's ups and downs and mostly downs.
- GR360 - This was a joke. Way to expensive for what is offered. Only 2 IPs and very little customization... not made for anyone taking mailing seriously.
- Dedicated Server/ IPs/ Mailing system - This HAS to be the way I need to go, but I've also tried this and saw some glimpse of success and then was sent back down to earth when my IP's got burned pretty hard. Now remember - these are real opt in subscribers that I DO mail in other ESP's at the moment and they do fine with low complaints... so I'm assuming my mailing setup was just a bit suspect.
So ultimately what I'm looking for is a good recommendation on setting up a mailing platform that can actually deliver. I am in a small, but pretty strong, sub-niche of IM and I know that I am one of 10-15 people that are looking for this same solution so if anyone knows a WORKING solutions that they can get delivery that's been proven in the Biz Op niche I would GREATLY appreciate the connection.
When I get one working - I will ABSOLUTELY post the info on this thread to help anyone looking for the same solution in the future.
Thanks in advance!
Hey, I could be completely wrong but I might look at "email service" providers out of the box like GetVero.com
We use them for behavioral email marketing (e.g. if user hasn't used feature X in the last 2 weeks, send this email).
For opt ins you can simply use their HTML code. It works nicely with 3rd party providers such as LeadPages
It's not cheap though. You can spend easily $300-$500/month.
I've helped people with stuff like this before. I need to know:
- what is your volume
- are you lists 100% opt-in or are you sending unsolicited mail (it's fine either way, just don't lie to me)
the most stable (and cheapest) set up is to run your own mailing server and connect it to an smtp service or to a lot of dedicated IPs
My list is 100% true opt in, I have FULL record (not just name/ email/ IP)...
I have heard of people doing the SMTP route and I did that with Mailjet but got ONE manual complaint and I was gone... I'm assuming multiple routing will help that issue. I'll take any/ all advice man cause I need to come up with a good, manageable, and long term solution.
My volume is... well... that depends. I have a good amount of leads and right now I mail them from different ESPs... so it's tricky to say how much I mail but let's assume it's around 2MM/ month - 3MM. And that's with my mailing openers a lot trying to get some of these shit ESP solutions to leave me alone and let me mail. haha
No more biz opp on SL? That's strange, because the platform was built by a biz opp offer.
You are correct... apparently there are some changes taking place? I was one of the original affiliates to use their system and their pitch was "We will never shut you down, we are bizop friendly"... but I mean, things change I guess. As of July 31st... they are moving on.
Weird, I purchased BML and they were really pushing the promotion of MOBE using SL.
Anyway, my buddy recently launched something that solves this issue you're talking about. I want to request his permission before sharing, because it's private at the moment.
Basically, it's a platform for mailing that links multiple SMTPs together. I'm not that knowledgeable of the tech side of it, but it's built for direct response email marketing.
Klickrr? I have that - they aren't actually running yet. But there are SEVERAL of those programs... not terrible but pricing is always an issue... as you normally have to pay per SMTP you are setup with, etc.
Not sure if you're still looking, but http://elasticemail.com/ is a good testing platform. They adjust pricing based on deliverability; if you get opens and clicks, your prices go down. Starting a new account is only a few bucks and you can scale accordingly at a competitive price.
