Organizing a campaign while testing

Hello,

I am running my first campaign currently on Go2Mobi and tracking in Voluum.

I blacklisted poor performing placements, carriers and devices. I also deleted poor performing banners.

I was confused on the best practice for for organizing the testing in Voluum and Go2Mobi.

In Go2Mobi, you can easily clone a campaign and give it a new name that makes it easy to distinguish between the original campaign and subsequent tests. Then pause the original campaign.

However, I didn't clone the campaign and just left it running with the blacklisted changes.

The reason that I did this is because I didn't know if I should create or duplicate a new campaign in Voluum with a new name that indicates that it's a test. For example, Offername Test 1 and the Date. And archive the original campaign in Voluum.

Can you please share your thoughts or ideas?

There are no hard rules when it comes to keeping your camps organized. You can do this any way you like as long as it makes sense to you.

However - most people don't usually set up new campaigns after blacklisting placements/carriers/devices.

Can you elaborate on what your concerns are exactly? If you could describe an example, I'll do my best to provide some suggestions.

What works for me MAY not work for you, so its something that you should figure out in time. From the question I am assuming that you are new to this game, so my advice is not to worry about it right now, eventually you will figure out a system.

To add onto what Amy said, the reason why you want a new campaign would be to split test things or to create a whitelist campaign.

The only thing you need is a way to match up the campaign in your traffic source, your tracker and your spreadsheet. So assign a unique number to a campaign and a date to it and you should be good to go.
