Hello Everyone,
This will be my first follow along campaign for Mobile Offer!
My small little aim will be to get profitable $50/day within first month of testing.
I will be following closely to @caurmen CookBook Guide (Really a big thanks to him, a well written guide!)
Here I Gooooooo!
Traffic: Decisive
Offer: Battery Saver (International Offer) - Direct Linking
Geo: Philippines
Payout: 0.23
According to the guide, I have created 4 different campaigns based on 1 angle (separated by Apps/Mobile, Apps/Wifi, Site/Mobile, Site/Wifi)
Angle: Increase Battery Duration
Banners: Created 4 banners (320x50) based on 1 angle
(I have attached the banners below - Anyone know how to directly show the image into a specify section in my thread????)
Up till now, (1 days plus of running) only about $3 has been spent and 1 conversion so far.
I have few questions i need to ask and hope to get them clarify!
1. How to insert image into this thread and fix into a specific section within a thread?
2. For decisive, I used the planner and saw the Philippines average CPM is 0.11. According to the guide, I am supposed to use 1.5x the payout and bid on the smart CPM in decisive.
0.23 x 1.5 = 0.345 -> So Should i bid this high 0.345 or should i stick with 0.11?? Usually in general, how much more than the average CPM stated in the planner should we bid?
2b. And also for decisive, how can we set that we only want OS version 2.3 and higher? Is there an easier way to do it rather than selecting all the different versions (eg 2.3.1, 2.4.1, 2.4.2)? It would be very tedious.
3. I am using CPVLab to track as well even though this is direct linking.
But the problem i am facing is, there is far too many unique data. I am using bidhash as the append token (which means every single click on the banner it will show as a new data in my cpvlab page. - refer to the attachment for reference). I am thinking, what should be the correct append token i should be tracking, should it be placement instead?
Thanks!
I always had trouble with SmartCPM. Go with flat CPM imo, that should fix your lack of traffic. Go deeper into the planner and check what the average CPM is for your banner format if you can, probably more accurate than general average CPM.
If you bid around that number you should be doing fine, especially for offers with such low payout.

Can't help with CPVLab, using
Did you run other campaigns before?

[Update 2]
As of now, my 4 campaigns for PH geos only spent $5+ which is very little.

Only one of the campaign reach $5 spending.

In that campaign, there are 2 placements which have spent $2.95 and $1.63 respectively.
For the placement that spent $2.95, it has 3 conversion (revenue of 0.69) while placement that spent $1.63 has no conversion yet.
Qns: Should I black list these 2 placements? or should i let the placement with 3 conversions to continue run (but until what point to blacklist it?)
[UK - Country, Created 4 more campaigns - App/Mobile, App/Wifi, Site/Mobile, Site/Wifi]
I have also created few more banners and try to test it in a new geo (UK).

This time round, UK campaigns have more data.
2 UK campaigns have spent around $6+ each while the other 2 spent around $2+ each.
For My App-Mobile Campaign (Spend $6+), there is one placement that eat up $4.36 already and has no conversion at all. So i am going to blacklist that placement.
For My App-Wifi Campaign (Spend $6+), there is also one placement that eat up $3.27 with no conversion at all. So i am also going to blacklist that placement.
Qns: However, there are 2 other placement that has spent $0.84 and $0.66 respectively with no conversion. Should i blacklist that 2 placement as well?
For the other 2 campaigns (Site/Mobile and Site/Wifi), each has only spent $2+, and is quite evenly spent, so i will just continue to test more before making decision.
Thing To Do:
1. For my PH geo, i will wait to get more feedback before decide whether to kill any placement and meanwhile continue to test more data until it reaches $15 mark/campaign
2. For my UK geo, will wait to get more feedback before decide whether to kill placement and meanwhile continue to test more data until it reaches $15 mark/campaign
3. I have just gotten a list of top converting countries for these offer. Hence, i will need to create banners (different language) for these specific countries and try to create separate campaign for them.
That all for today! Hope to get more feedback and directionsssss!
Get rid of Grindr asap. It's pretty universally regarded as trash traffic (for utilities, at least).
[Update 3]
As of now, I have12 campaigns going on. 4 on Philippines, 4 on UK and 4 on India.
[Philippines]
Campaign 1 - Spend $0.01 Conversion 0 Revenue 0
Campaign 2 - Spend $1.49 Conversion 0 Revenue 0
Campaign 3 - Spend $7.14 Conversion 9 Revenue $2.07
Campaign 4 - Spend $0.09 Conversion 0 Revenue 0
Finally i see more conversions coming in for Campaign 3. I have also blacklist placement that spend more than $1+ with no conversion or placement that have many impression with 0 or little clicks.
The sad thing is the traffic vol is still low.
[UK]
Campaign 1 - Spend $5.22 Conversion 0 Revenue 0
Campaign 2 - Spend $5.80 Conversion 1 Revenue $0.23
Campaign 3 - Spend $11.98 Conversion 1 Revenue $0.23
Campaign 4 - Spend $10.00 Conversion 0 Revenue $0
UK Campaigns doesn't seem good. But in between, there are some placements eating up $2-3 budgets with no conversion and i have already blacklist them. I will leave them running till $15/ campaign before deciding to drop UK geo or not.
[India]
I have created another 4 new campaigns for INDIA! I used google translator to translate the language to hindi for my banners. Not sure if they are translated correctly or not. lol..
I will update the stats for India again when they have approved the ads.
[Summary]
I am becoming more like Mr Stackman! lol.. I love testing more data and i have the urge to test all the geo (200+ countries) for this offer.
Do you think if this is a wise choice to test more geo for this specific offer?
Feel free to give your comment
Thanks for reading ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You don't know if your angles, banners, landers or lackthereof are good yet so testing more geos won't show a profit. It wil teach you about the geos of course but won't necessarily help with making this offer work I think.
[Update 4:]
Status as of current:
Location: 5 Geos [UK, Philippines, Lithuania, India, Sweden]
Campaigns: 20 campaigns created
Spent: $100
Conversion: 19
Revenue: $4.37
Things To Do:
1. I have signed up for whererunswhere. Going to spy more angles from there
2. Test different angle for top converting Geos
Anyone has any success with battery saver kind of apps install recently?
Hey,
Yep, battery savers are alive and well. What made you try UK btw? That seems like a tough geo to crack.
