If you were in this position, what would you do with this team? (6)

Hello there,

I have been a little bit "off" from the AM sphere. I have been mostly running two private campaigns, no tracking solution, no banners or creatives, just direct traffic so I'm a little bit "rusty".

Thing is that three ex coworkers reached me in order to create a team, we're all a little bit tired of the 9-5 job for 1500€ monthly if you're lucky. We all have a background related to the software-installation niche but as it is dying we have all decided that if we're entering in this affiliate marketing world it is best to take it seriously and go for something that has more future. I'll write down a description of each team member:

Team member 1 (Me): I know how to use Voluum, VPS Servers and I have an overall sense of the affiliate marketing world (Hey, I know that THIS is the best forums so I must know something, right?) . Adwords and Bing certified, some experience buying all sorts of traffic. My best month was about 5000$ net profit, these days I'm averaging 1200$-2000$ net profit monthly without too much effort. Somewhat fluent in English, native Spanish Speaker.

Team member 2: professional designer. Banners and landers are a breeze to him, I'm not 100% sure but I am mostly certain that he also knows javascript in order to make the landings interactive.

Team member 3: media buyer apprentice. He has a good base on how affiliate marketing works and has the process of creating campaigns and optimizing them pretty ingrained. Maybe I have to teach him a thing here and there but I'm sure he'll get it pretty fast.

Team member 4: "jack of all trades". Has a good base on affiliate marketing and while he doesn't have any special habily he is a fast learner and a very very hard worker. He knows a little bit of server configuration and programming, he can be a good support for everyone.

These are the task I think we should be doing in the beginning:

Team member 1 (ME): launching campaigns with traffic source 1 (to decide), teach team member 3 how to use Voluum, how to launch & optimize campaigns (using the STM guides of course), coordinate efforts with other team members, specially with team member 2 (designer.

Team member 2 (designer): create banners and landers pretty much. Come with new ideas.

Team member 3 (media buyer newbie): help me creating new campaigns in traffic source 1 or even expand to traffic source 2.

Team member 4 (jack of all trades): help spying competition & coming with new angles and/or offers, talking with affiliate managers, assist us in server configuration or file uploads. Help with translations (coordinate the languages, hire the services and so on).

And here are my questions for all my fellow forum members:

- What would you do with these 4 people? (I mean in terms of tasks)
- How much money will be a nice start between the 4? (I was thinking about 3000-4000$)
- What niche / traffic source will you get in? (I was thinking about mobile using STM guides, about traffic sources I'm hearing a lot of good things about Adwill)
- Any other advice you want to give me?

Of course if there's a super affiliate here that thinks that he can get this splendid team under his wing we're totally up to that, just hit me up on MP and let's talk.

Some clarification/notes:

- In our background I mentioned "software installation" what I actually meant was those desktop toolbar installs, not mobile apps.
- I have a POF account from the past (I never used it) so I can either go with the POF way or the Mobile Cookbook way.

Interesting i will be setting up my own team also with almost the same configuration. And i will start from 3 people handling lead, technology, and banners.
