ppv volume question (2)

ppv volume question

I have a question for you guys. I'm bidding on some high volume targets, but the volume is not what it should be most of the time. Some days I can get a ton, and others it just flat tanks. Seems odd, and I'm not sure where the impressions are going. Some times during the day I'll get some, then a trickle for hours. Which makes me think that some of the auto bidders allow you to do day parting, but I'm not sure. I'm currently using cpvbidder and I'm not seeing that functionality, but that doesn't mean it's out there. Anyone know about that?

I'm only bidding on URLs right now, so I'm curios if I'm losing traffic to KW bids on the domain. For instance, if you bid on the kw "speakers" will that trigger an impression on speakers.com? If so, is it highest bid gets priority?

Is it correct that kw pops are triggered by page content as well as user searches? So a person wouldn't have to search google for "speakers" but if he landed on a page that talked about them and you were bidding on that kw, would it pop? Or does the user have to search specifically for your term to get the pop?

There is still a lot I don't know about the mechanics of the game.

Seems like the typical situation where someone is outbidding you without you knowing.
On most cpv networks the guy that bids the highest gets 70% of the traffic.
In your case you don't see competition since someone might be bidding on a shorter word inside your high volume domain.
For example if you bid 0.02 on walmart.com and someone bids 0.021 on .com ( I don't think anyone would do this anyway , but on walmart probaly yeah ) , he would get 70% of the traffic since .com is contained
in your domain and has a higher bid price.
I've heard guys that do RON on Leadimpact just by bidding on vowels or super short words ( ie , es etc etc ) .
What you should be doing is to add the "shorter words" that make sense and see the highest bid among all of them.
Then bid higher on your main domain.
I wrote this in a hurry , so hope it makes sense.
