Hey guys, I am new to media buying and started with Facebook Desktop Games. However I see that only one third of the clicks facebook tells me are shown in the Affiliate Backend. Anyone had this? Can this be something with GeoTargeting?
It might be because Facebook is showing you gross clicks and your aff network is counting unique clicks...
It's not a gross click / unique click thing. The difference is far too high for FB traffic.
Are you direct linking? What is your setup?
70 to 80 % click loss? Check out your ad, click on it and see what happens..
I think I know what it is lol. The URL of my Facebook Ad changed yesterday to "mediaupdate15.com" which seems to be some kind of Pop Up Virus. Wtf?
Exactly what I was gonna say, make sure your domain is not flagged on FB... Big discrepancy occurs when your domain has to go thru some kind of security notification asking if the user really wants to go to your website.
There's always discrepancies between tracking platforms but if they are bigger than 10%, that's very alarming.
I hope you have a good contract in place with your advertiser to make sure billing goes on your stats in case of such big discrepancies.
But indeed as the other guys here say, make sure that you are comparing apples with apples (same type of clicks) and that you are not flagged by them which could explain the big drop-off rate between FB click and the actuall landing page loading
