Power Editor scheduling dumb bug ?

Hello guys,

It's probably well know but I just discovered an annoying bug : I've scheduled my Ad set to start tomorrow (june 16) and created all the Ads in every Ad-set... then decided I could launch the campaign today (june 15)... so I've changed the Ad-set scheduled time to today...

and surprise surprise : the Ads scheduled time are NOT updated and set to today !!

I can't believe how crap the Facebook Ad Management "advanced" interface is... arghhhh

Cheers,

PS : no clue how I can have the "Ad Set" section say it's scheduled today and the "Ad" section saying it's starting tomorrow... with only 1 field in the excel sheet, I suppose the excel sheet doesn't represent their datamodel either...

My approach to this is to switch them all from scheduled to paused/active and remove start dates entirely, then try switching to active/paused. Basically you have to kick the system to get rid of the stupid scheduled status, which often has time zone issues as well.

I remember in the past... trying to change start time to 2 hours ago to force it to start > FB tells me the start time can't be in the past > won't let me change due to my time zone but then it activated ads based on US time... so I get left with 17 hour windows where FB wouldn't let me change them. I'm pretty sure that has long since been fixed though.

once you set the ad and its approved you cant change it as any change will act as a new ad.
it might be a bug and still causing some "issues" but i use to do basically the same as Zeno. set the ad to paused and activate it again, or you can clone the ad and set the time you want on the new ad (Clone).

Thanks guys for the tips, I'll try this or just wait another day for all this to start.

FB in itself is a nice traffic source, but generally speaking it's a clunky piece of sh*t... this Power Editor is really a shame

This is exactly why there is a market for Preferred Marketing Developers (PMDs), now called Marketing Partners I guess, and a premium on using such tools. Cheap ones include Qwaya and AdEspresso though IMO they aren't great.

Qwaya at least now offers server-to-server based tracking using ad IDs.
