HUGE click discrepancy and wrong Geo with Decisive

Hey guys,

I ran a campaign two days ago with Decisive, but it was showing a huge discrepancy with my affiliate network:
543 @ Decisive
85 @ Affiliate Network

My AM pushed me a click report that shows INDONESIAN traffic and other EUROPEAN traffic, even though I correctly targeted to US only...

1) Click discrepancy
2) Wrong Geo

Questions:
a) What could cause that ? Bots ?
b) Does this often happen with Decisive ?

Thanks guys.

That happened to me a lot, so I basically stopped using Decisive. I would always get either bots, traffic out of the geo, or something else. Telling support about it will just cause them to blame you or your affiliate network.

That's my experience, I hope it helps!

What does your tracker say? That's quite a major difference you have there. I haven't found Decisive to be THAT bad.

there will always be discrepancies between 2 different tracking systems.
sometimes it can be a small discrepancy and sometimes huge like the example above.

there are many reasons for this and here are some of the basic reasons:
1. Unique clicks Vs Gross clicks.
Most of the networks will present only the amount of Unique clicks where you might see the amount of Gross clicks in the ad network where you buy the traffic from.
2. Time differences - try and understand what time zones does the network and the ad network are using sometimes there is a big difference in the time zones that makes a big discrepancy.
3. Geo Targets - while you set the campaign on a specific Geo sometimes there is a certain percentage of traffic coming from different Geo's. this can also make a big discrepancy as the network will count only the clicks from the Geo target.
you can view this in your report and see if you are sending traffic to an offer you aren't promoting.

there might be other reasons but its most important to verify that the tracking is working properly by asking your AM to perform a test for you using your Test link.

Make sure the reports are in the same timezone and take up all the three reports (Decisive, Voluum and your network) and write to Decisive support for an answer and refund of credits to account. They usually reply.
