Hi guys, I joined the forum a week ago. I'm new to affiliate marketing and don't really have any computer related skills, so I know I have work to do either road I go down. I been taking in as much about AM as a can and just trying to get a general overview. I'm starting with a $1500 budget.
It seems like most people when starting here read through the mobile cookbook and then start testing banners for apps or sweepstakes. The point is to build a campaign that has good ROI and then to try to duplicate your results on as many traffic sources as you can, as fast as you can, before it's copied from everyone else. Some of the posts make it out to be a crazy feeding frenzy. On the plus side, it can be a relatively cheap way to learn the ropes. Also something that is competitive means there is money to be made.
Pay per call is appealing to me because for one the offers I feel are things I can relate to a little better, which would make coming up with ideas easier. Also with search, you're not making banners and don't have to have an amazing website. So earning to use Photoshop or a similar program would be one less thing to worry about at this moment. My concerns are that it isn't as talked about on here anywhere near as much as mobile. The reason I joined STM, like many people, is to get help along the way from people that have done it. Also I'm not sure how much is needed to start testing.
What's the better route to go and are my assumptions about the two close to reality? I know being new, I'm going to have a lot of work either way.
In your case, definitely search/ppc.
