How much budget do you need to test a 2$ offer?

I have spent 1000$ on a 2$ Subscription offer, I put any placements that can convert to the second campaign, I have test 14 days on this offer.
Until now the second campaign can only cost about 40$ per day with a -10%ROI. I can get profit but the volume is too small.
Every day I will add some new placements to campaign 2 ,but it still can't get enough traffic.
I don't know if I'm on the right way, I'm a newbie.
Usually, how much money and time do you need to test a 2$ offer?

so is your problem scaling or testing?

06-08-2015 11:45 AM #5 frank1986 (Member)

Scaling, I want to get more cheap clicks, my LP CVR is about 1.2%, offer CVR is 4.83%, my banner ctr is about 1%, my AM told me my conversion rate is good.
What should I do next? Improve LP? Banner? Or test more placements?
My campaign1 CPM is 0.6, win rates is 13%,
Campaign 2 Cpm is 1.5, win rates is 50%.

Maybe I should try day parking

Try scaling to a bigger traffic source to get more traffic?

banner ctr of 1% is pretty low. increasing that to 2% will double your profits instantly. ceteris peribus.

i get 4-5% ctr on my banners. so that's possible. Nothing i do would be profitable at 1% ctr.

I would say it's too early to look at day parting - remember that different days of the week will also act differently.

hlyghst's advice is so simple, yet so effective. Now get out there and test some banners!

Its very hard to get it profitable at 2$ as this rate is quite low; we have various offers that pay 3.5$ or more. Reach out to me if you wanna know more. Contact details are in my signature.

i doubt your problem is the payout. the conversion rate is more important.

but like i said above. improving that ctr is the easiest way for that camp to make more money.

Is that RON CTR or specific placements?

06-11-2015 05:02 AM #13 hlyghst ()

RON ctr. some placements do 15%. but that's unusual.

Wow that's amazing. My banners get at best around 1% RON. How do I create banners with such CTR?

06-11-2015 05:06 AM #15 hlyghst ()

test a lot of banners. check out WRW. try a bunch that u see around.

Wait a second. LP CTR of 1.2%?

It's already telling you that your angle DOES NOT WORK for the demographic you are targeting. If you're running on banner traffic you better make sure to have at least 10% LP CTR. For your existing campaign, I suggest to kill it and start with a new angle.

LP CVR is 1.2%, LP CTR is above 20%
This is an antivirus offer, I will try to find more good banners
