I'm not expert buy Maybe you can target ur audience to Shy guys/gals? Or meet like minded people? Basically something more than make new friends. Also ur headline for landing make can be more catchy. Like "start skouting".

what cpms are you paying?

.65 is pretty low payout for US traffic. For DSP traffic you will need to pay at least .50cpm for any volume.

that means you need .77 conversions per mille to break even. That's certainly do able, but breaking even isn't your goal.

Why did you choose this offer? why did you choose the US?

You daily budget is quite low. at $8 spend a day it will take you approximately 2 months to get reliable placement data on one of the dsp exchanges. You also will need to test creatives.
this is assuming that your offer works.

What are your goals for the campaign and your expected time frame?

as for your question.
sure you could do that, if you plan on bidding differently for the different placements in mobile and wifi.
It also might convert better on one or the other. But you would need a lot more data to know.

ps. why is your CPA goal 1.5 for a .65 payout offer?
if you want 100% roi, the CPA goal would be .325

pps. i like your don't die lonely angle. I would add more skulls. or possible zombies.

CPM seems to be $0.11 - $0.13

i chose this offer because it was the lowest pay out even thought it was for the US, was going to just test the waters all other offers were like $5+ payout

hmm never thought about goals, i just wanted to break even asap

i thought you are meant to put ur CPA goal 3x your offer payout?

thanks for the skull tip, ill make and test some banners for that

stekoh

when they say, start with low payout offers, that doesn't mean you should choose the lowest payout offer.

It means in general it is cheaper to test a 30 cent offer than a 10 dollar offer. I would advise trying a tier 3 country. indonesia perhaps. and choosing a solid performing offer there.

cpa = cost per action. In this case downloads. you are getting .65 per download. you definitely want to be paying less than that.

why would your goal be to break even?

how do i do that?

im using beyond hosting + Voluum

I suppose that's shared hosting. For starters, analyze your page with: http://gtmetrix.com/ and see what they suggest.

Next thing is to move from shared hosting to a VPS. This forum has so many recommendations and discount codes if you look around. But if you are on a tight budget, you could use a Digital Ocean server. They start at just 5$, of course do not expect VPS perfomance, but its WAAYY better than an AIG shared host. Digital Ocean servers need some tech know-how to set it up, but you can use it from CloudWays (A-link?).

I came here because of your title, "fountain of money wastage". That's not money wasted man, you need to think of it as investing in yourself. Just think about the things you learned from launching this campaign? You learned how to use Voluum, how to setup a campaign on Decisive, how to blacklist stuff, and much much more. Those are priceless things!

This is the exact reason I came to this thread. I just finished reading a book about the benefits of being positive and putting things into proper perspective. Don't handicap yourself by thinking that your learning funds is a "fountain of money wastage". By doing so you'll undercut your potential!

sorry to mislead you guys,

Care to share the name of that mystery book?

how do i eliminate redirects on my landing page? its all needed for tracking isnt it? i got a F in redirects in http://gtmetrix.com/

06-11-2015 04:15 AM #18 hlyghst ()

unfortunately the redirects are pretty important. It must redirect to the networks tracker and to your tracker. U could choose not to use a tracker, and eliminate that redirect. but that is probably not wise.

if u just put in the LP url and not your tracking link into gtmetrix, you'll find that your score improves.

today i will add my landing page on to a new traffic source, popcash

it seems like decisive is not working really well with skout

* does anyone know if there some local meet/sharing session or somthing similar in Western australia?

06-14-2015 05:22 AM #20 stekoh (Member)

Popcash has been doing much better than decisive, i dont plan to show my lander because its on the bending rules side XD

Cost $42
Revenue $26.65
25551 visits
569 clicks
41 conversions
on a 65c payout

already blocked off a website that cost more than 3x the payout without conversions. rest of the websites seem to be ok. but there is so many websites with little ammount of views that adds up to a lot of views that i cant block yet

am i wasting my efforts with this campaign?

06-14-2015 02:41 PM #21 arunbasillal (Member)

You have tried out two traffic sources and you have over -50% ROI now.

(The first time I made a +ve ROI, if I had accounts ready to go in all the traffic sources that I am on now and if I knew which places had traffic for my geo, I would have made at least 3x of what I did with that single campaign)

The little views add up, there isnt much you can do about it for now. Keep testing.

You are not wasting time brother, keep working.

Hey Steven,

I started my first campain last week at exactly the same time and using the SKOUT offer - After burning a pile of cash, I had two interesting skype/emails from my AM - The first told me that out of nearly 7,000 clicks - 30% yes 30% were being redirected - ay too high - the other thing was that alot of these were coming from NON-US sources [WTF?]...

The last message i had from from my AM said this, and i quote "

[30/06/2015 23:53:43] Stop sending traffic to skout
30/06/2015 23:56:17] Just got a email. Let me get to the bottom of this."

My Skype name should be below - get in touch if you wnat to connect - We all need support and if we can learn from each other thne great.
