"Instagram Beefs Up Ads With App Install And Buy Buttons, Interest Targeting, API"

Hi Guys

I Personally think its quite of a big announcement from Facebook regarding how Instagram is going to become a new traffic source for Advertisers.

here are some highlights:
"Instagram is ready to make some serious money. After a year and half of format experiments and basic targeting, Instagram is giving advertisers much more powerful tools. Those include “Shop Now”, “Install Now”, and “Sign up” buttons, interest and demographic targeting, and an API for efficiently managing huge campaigns."

"The new targeting, meanwhile, also expands on the existing connection between Instagram ads and the user data in Facebook (which owns Instagram). Previously, Instagram advertisers could target ads based on age, gender and country. Over time, they’ll be able to tap into a wider range of demographic and interest data, plus target based on “information businesses have about their own customers”

"Lastly, Instagram says it wants to make its advertising available to businesses large or small. That means integrating Instagram with Facebook’s ad-buying tools, as well as launching an Instagram Ads API. The API will plug Instagram into the broader ecosystem of social ad platforms."

would love to read what are your thoughts on this from the STM members here that works mainly on Face book

Yep,I hear about this good news. but I don‘t know how to start ads on Ins,and where can we get Instagram ads account.

Looking forward to test this, especially in the beginning with low competition there's probably gold to be made.
Can anyone maybe share some experiences about advertising on Google+ ? Is that worth a test?

In case the ads are getting a bit creepy or annoying, Facebook says “We will also improve the feedback mechanisms within Instagram to give people greater control and improve the relevance of the ads they see.

Instagram is definitely the wild west at the moment. There is a tonne of potential to be had if you can capture the traffic. I've been dabbling with Instagram traffic for the past 4 months.

take in mind that the full potential of advertising on Instagram is still not fulfilled.

once FB will finish with the new settings and integration it should be more open for more affiliates to promote there and not just brand owner.
so best thing now is to explore this app and start working on some angles so once the features for promotion will be released you will be one step ahead of the competition.

A min buy in U.S. is 200k at a $30CPM, UK and AU 50k min. You're better off sticking to buying shout outs on big accounts if you can negotiate decent deals.
