STM Announcement: Affiliate World Asia

In 3 short years the STM team are now responsible for hosting the largest affiliate meet ups around the world.

It has come to a point that we have out grown the “meet up” concept. We are turning things up this year, and now organising “the best affiliate conferences on the planet”.

We would like to introduce you to Affiliate World Conferences. They will take place two times a year in Asia and Europe.

Our first conference is Affiliate World Asia. We promise you it will be a absolute game changer!

AFFILIATE WORLD ASIA

- December 7th-9th, 2015
- Bangkok

1000+ attendees from around the globe.

25+ speakers who are authorities in the affiliate marketing industry. They will guide you, teach you, and inspire you.

5 panels on topics that focus on building your affiliate campaigns and companies, hosted by the brightest names in the affiliate space.

What does this conference consist of?
- Panels and speeches from industry superstars
- Traffic-focussed networking meet ups (Facebook, Mobile, Dating and more!)
- Training workshop for affiliate newcomers and intermediates
- A day-long market to find new business connections with more than 100 companies, with a strong focus on companies in Asia.

This is the first time an event of this scale will connect affiliate leaders of China and around Asia with the leaders of the rest of the world.

Bangkok is really one of the most reasonably priced locations in the world. For the same price as a shared BnB in Central London, you can get a massive suite at some of the best hotels on the planet.

If you ever wanted to splurge once in your life on hotels, Bangkok is definitely the place to do it. Last time I stayed earlier this year, I think I paid < $400 a night and got the Astor Suite at the St. Regis http://www.stregissuites.com/suite.php?id=65659 (although I think it was an upgrade based on status). In Central London, that would get you a tiny closet sized room at a three star hotel.

I must be there. Perfect time to escape the Canadian winter/White Walkers we have.

I had a chat with Stackman and Mr. Green about this ... there will continue to be small scale informal STM networking drinks/evenings/events in various cities around the world, but the Affiliate World conferences will be massive-scale, slick, global, multi day productions for the entire industry.

What's great about Bangkok is that there is something for all budgets.

You can even stay at places like this

for $10 a night!!!

http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...l=1#post200905

And Thailand is easy to travel for people from India and China from a visa free perspective ... one of the few places that openly accepts visitors from all countries without making them jump through needless visa hoops and bureaucracy.

Will join you guys!

You've stepped in at the right time mate!

06-03-2015 06:48 PM #23 johnnyclean (Member)

Oh man, I'll definitely try to make it. Kind of bummed about the price though, even though I understand why - how this event will be huge compared to the other ones, more speakers, more professional etc. That combined with the flight, accomodation and just overall expenditures will be a pretty hefty bill, especially for the smaller affiliates!

I hope I'll be making enough money to be able to afford it by then!

06-03-2015 06:59 PM #24 oberkorn (Member)

Near to my city...hope to be there

Hopefully we will meet ( I know there will be thousands of people so, it may not happen but still ). I want to stay there for a few months, already sent the visa documents as I am allowed to stay there 15 days max without a visa.

It will be lovely to make friends on the first day .

Hey guys,

Does the STM crew already know if there will be a new AWA Asia conference in Bangkok in December 2016?

We are planning the fairs for the entire year and would like to book a table/booth this year!

Thanks for letting us know.

Cheers,
Christoph

I thought AWA was great, but I have one complaint about it. AWA sold all attendee's email addresses to all their sponsors. Given the nature of the affiliate industry, it is obvious that some of them are bound to be black hatters and as expected, I now receive a lot more spam than I did before AWA.

01-20-2016 04:44 PM #34 auditor (Member)

Yeah, pity.
I bought the list and sent one email only to the early birds.
But not everyone is like that I suppose.

01-20-2016 05:07 PM #35 servandosilva (Member)

I second that. Before the event it wasn't that bad because networks were sending emails and a few follow ups post event.
But now it's totally ridiculous with the sweeps and all email offers I'm receiving which obviously will have super low conversions because we're affiliates ourselves...

01-20-2016 05:13 PM #36 cmdeal (Veteran Member)

I agree. I talked with Stackman about this, and he assured me that this was a mistake and was not going to happen in the future.

01-20-2016 05:39 PM #37 johngalt (Member)

Thanks cmdeal, glad to hear this is being addressed.

Cheers!

Any updates on the recordings?

I don't think it was a mistake, nothing wrong with it in itself. Just requires vetting of who gets the list.

I think the problem lies in that the responsibility is taken away from us and placed on companies, who's actions then come from any number of individuals. Vetting can only do so much.

We made things pretty clear but in the end, once the emails go out, other people/companies ruin it for everybody and go against our terms because they "didn't understand" or just don't care.

Basically the behaviour of some was disappointingly exactly what you might expect from affiliate marketing companies. A shame.

01-22-2016 01:26 PM #41 auditor (Member)

It worked well for us, and we only sent one email.
I'd like to retain that opportunity next conference. Spike the list with spam-traps, that's fine for me.
We've got nothing to hide.

01-22-2016 02:04 PM #42 jennatalia (AMC Alumnus)

Probably better to treat it like a solo ad.

"Sent by AWC on behalf of [entity]"

AWC retains the email and entity gets their message out.

Good enough for me

01-22-2016 03:02 PM #44 auditor (Member)

That's awful. I hope you got it sorted without too much damage.

01-22-2016 03:05 PM #45 matt k (Member)

I just love ranting but I'd trade my ransomware drip for sweeps spam

After all, the Obama administration did order (and I quote) a “30-day Cybersecurity Sprint" - so thing''s are definitely a-okay. I mean I was a BIT pissed but when I heard that I was like oh okay all is in good hands. Maybe they'll even find time to upgrade the bullet-proof windoze 95 hosting half-a-mill SSNs

01-22-2016 03:16 PM #46 auditor (Member)

Just received the videos link for the event - beautiful site and presentation.
I was expecting (and would have been happy with) some crappy DIY links to videos. But NO. They went all fancy-like
Now I understand why it took some time. A lot of work went into this.

01-22-2016 03:46 PM #47 jennatalia (AMC Alumnus)

The videos were uploaded two weeks ago!!!!

01-22-2016 04:10 PM #48 auditor (Member)

Dafuq? We now have "sponsored"?
Anyway, I only just now got the link

02-07-2016 10:20 PM #49 taewoo (Member)

Is the video from the event posted anywhere?

I think it is available to all the Gold pass holders.

That is correct. Gold attendees got an email with access.

Are the conference hours the same as AWE? 10-5?
