Increasing Email Submit Lead Quality?
I was reviewing some CPA offers with MaxBounty, and noticed that some campaigns had a decrease in payout--likely due to lower lead quality issues.
Attila's guide to a profitable mobile pop campaign makes for a good template and overall strategy. What is unclear is how to increase quality of leads while maintaining profits.
The main solution that came to mind was to put in a video / infographic that explains how an email submit offer works and show how to 'game' the system and ultimately get people to complete more offers after opting in.

That could work.
The trade off is that you might build further expectations in the user's head. People trained on 'gaming' a system are probably less likely to pay for something than a low IQ user stumbling blindly through the funnel with no expectations. Worth a test though.
If what you're promoting is a SOI, then firing a pop-up on exit that reminds the user to confirm his email for Reason XYZ... will usually help with quality.
I do think a lot of quality problems are related to affiliates using more and more aggressive LPs in search of the initial ROI.
The harder you push with the creatives, the more work the advertiser has to do to bring those expectations down to earth.

in my experience lead quality is more related to the traffic source and placements. If you pass that info to the network or advertiser they can tell u which is working best for them. drop the low quality sources and hit hard the quality ones. overall lead quality goes up. advertiser likes you and doesn't scrub.

Here are a few things to think about...
1. The ability to target age.
- No matter how you sell to a user if they are below a certain age, the leads can't be monetised effectively. A way to get around the inability to target age on pops, would be by adding a button for say 21+ or 25+ and a button for ages under that and redirect them to another offer.
2. Your angle.
- You need to motivate every user to go through this email submit path. Not just opt in, but continue down the funnel after that. If I were you I would go through the funnel myself and see what a user needs to do in order to be high quality. Making a simple current event quiz angle sometimes isn't enough.
3. The traffic source you are using.
- It's possible that the traffic source you are using has been saturated, which means you could possibly be delivering duplicate data. I've run into this issue before, where over 30% of the leads I sent were duplicates. The company had been fishing in the same traffic pond as I was, so I had to change things up on my end.
