what is focus?

what is your definition of focus within mobile itself?

one traffic source like smaato/mopub?
one offer only like du speed?
one vertical like utilities?
one geo like brazil?

after reading and testing several concepts i realised almost anything is possible, i can have a bunch of campaigns adding up, or one big campaign, but i dont know how to replicate the big campaign consistently. i see alot of case studies talking about focus, but the success comes from switching up the traffic source, switching up the offer, which can be confusing because they advocate focus.

Thanks for bringing up this question man. I would like to get the answer as well.

I can tell you one thing, picking a major traffic source and making it your FOCUS has its benefits. That's what I am doing right now. You tend to know what sort of landers get good CTR, where the cheapest traffic is, the ad approval times and how the traffic is distributed.

And focus on a few Geo's. Like, I focus on 3 Geo's right now. I know that the CR drops dead on a few hours in one of those geo's. No matter what offer it is. So it would be a good idea NOT to test new offers in those hours. There are things like you pick up by focusing on a few things at a time.

What kind of thing do you focus in on the traffic source? Understanding the metrics like the ctr? The average conversion rate? Or relationship with the representative? Or specific targeting options available to the traffic source? And how do you know if your efforts would pay off? Just assume and keep going because you are on the biggest traffic source like exoclick?

- Cheapest Traffic
- Highest Volume
- Relationship between Bid and Quality (This comes with experience and testing IMO)
- What they hate (Exo hates AV offers, I got my account blocked)

You don't. But then the only thing you can be sure of is that you will die at any moment between now and eternity. I think being on bigger sources makes it harder. Your traffic would be spread across more targets. Start small. But that's me.
