Warning! Adult Campaign Exposed

Hey STM -

My name is Adam. I'm from the Bay Area. I am currently working the 9-5. The end goal is to do AM full time. I have been working in the corporate world for 2 years now and am starting to get tired of the political aspect the corporate world brings.

I'm pretty new to AM, and even newer to Adult. I started doing POF 2-3 months ago and made my way into the exciting world of Adult 2 weeks ago. I'm currently struggling with the testing/optimizing process.

Since I am new to the vertical, I decided to start in a Tier 3 GEO (ZA) and scrape banners/landers. I invested in a VPN so I could spy on some of the top sites in ZA and scraped about 30 banners 1 LP. I am testing this LP against the map LP from bbrock. I'm also split testing 2 offers that I got from Advidi. My other networks don't have hookup site offers for ZA.

I am testing the Video B placement across all of the sites the Traffic Junky offers and also a couple In Player placements on the sites that don't offer Video B placements for my ads. I am testing 300x250s and 315x300s, both static and dynamic.

STATS SO FAR

Spend: $173.12
Revenue: $75
Profit: -$98.12
ROI: -57%

Average CPM: $0.262
Clicks: 1,865
Ad CTR: .282%
LP CTR: 52%
Conversions: 32

I'm getting really cheap clicks and good CTR from lander to offer, but am having trouble converting.

Unfortunately I made the rookie mistake of not tracking which banners were bringing in each conversion. I was tracking Site Name, Spot Name, and Location. I have been tracking which banners are bringing in the conversions as of yesterday, though, so now I can start to cut banners that don't bring in conversions. I'm using Voluum to track.

NEXT STEPS

-I'm joining a Mastermind, so excited to get that started
-Update this follow along at least 5 days a week
-Test current banners/landers and optimize
-Talk with AMs about offers in other Tier 2/3 GEOs that are doing well AND doing volume

GOALS

-Update this follow along at least 5 days a week for the month of June
-Test at least 20 new banners per week (might be on the low side)
-Spend at least $25/day
-Have at least one $50/day by the end of June

Thank you for reading

Adam

Good luck! I'll be watching!

With tracking these numbers will look better keep us posted.

05-30-2015 06:51 AM #3 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Thanks omrikos! Unfortunately today was a slower day for both traffic and conversions for some reason. I uploaded 10 new ads last night that got approved this morning so I ran those almost all day.

STATS
Spend: $21.39
Revenue: $8.55
Profit: -$12.84
ROI: -40%

Clicks: 275
Ad CTR: .391%
LP CTR: 44.0%
Conversions: 3

I ran a couple older LPs this morning and they bombed so I went back to my current LPs once my new ads got approved. This could explain the decrease in LP CTR. I don't have enough data yet to make any decisions, but I did notice that one spot has been doing well so I'll keep an eye on it.

NEXT STEPS

-Run current banners for at least one more day to gather more data
-Look to increase bid on the placement that is doing well and see if I can get more traffic there

05-30-2015 06:57 AM #4 blackemil (Junior Moderator)

Nice mate ! If you need some advices on adult hit me up on skype I have some tricks for you !

05-31-2015 06:42 AM #5 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Thanks blackemil! Just sent you a PM

STATS

Spend: $26.30
Revenue: $14.70
Profit: -$11.60
ROI: -66%

Clicks: 309
Ad CTR: .382%
LP CTR: 49.7%
Conversions: 6

So it looks like Ad CTR and LP CTR are still pretty solid. I just need to improve my CVR.

The EPC on my two offers are currently identical ($0.08) so not much I can do there.

The EPC on my map lander is $0.09 compared to the EPC of the lander I scraped $0.07, so I am going to create a couple variations of that lander tomorrow to test out. I'll change the headline for now since it seems like the headline I'm currently using is used by every other adult lander.

As for placements, I found a couple placements that are outperforming the rest (see below).

Attachment 7153

There are 2 spots with over a $0.20 EPC. Would you recommend focusing on these two placements by driving more traffic to them with higher bids? I'm not sure if I should keep running the other placements or not. It seems like I don't have enough data on some of them to make any decisions, and the top one is bringing in the bulk of my volume, but has an EPC of $0.05. Any recommendations?

As for Ads, nothing stands out yet. 2 of my ads have brought in 2 conversions, the rest 1 or 0. I will keep running these for a few more days to get more data. It's also possible I am testing too many ads at once. I have 220 different ad/placement combinations right now and 30 unique ads. Would you recommend narrowing this down?

NEXT STEPS

-Let ads run for a few more days because more data is needed
-Determine if I am running too many ad/placement combinations
-Run only the map lander and create 2 variations tomorrow

05-31-2015 08:31 AM #6 affiliaxeguy (Member)

looks nice "smalcolm" , its very good to analyze everything but in my opinion you are using too much ad\placements combination.
thing is that if you aren't able to get some conclusions from all these ad\placements combination than the split test isn't really working, you need to split test and have the ability to really optimize the campaign otherwise you are just wasting time\money.
it looks like you are on the right path and im sure you will manage to promote some successful campaigns.
take in mind that if you aren't able to be profitable on a campaign after a lot of optimizations, than maybe you need to look for a different campaign

06-01-2015 05:25 AM #7 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Thanks affiliaxeguy. I decided only run 3 sites and test two different placements on each. This leaves me with 44 unique combinations rather than 250+. I think this will be easier to manage and won't cost as much for useful data.

STATS

Spend: $21.23
Revenue: $13.05
Profit: -$8.18
ROI: -39%

Clicks: 288
Ad CTR: .416%
LP CTR: 54%

Since I paused a lot of my placements, my volume dropped a little bit which is expected. I have a couple placements that are slightly outperforming the others (see below rows 2 and 3). Would you recommend increasing bids on these placements to get more volume there?

From this, I am considering increasing the bids of the row 2 and row 3 placement and pausing the rest. It's hard to do that when most of your conversions are coming from a different placement, but I'm not going to be able to become a full time Affiliate Marketer with $0.05 EPC

Also, I did some research and found out that the majority of South Africans are black. When using my VPN to spy, most of the banners I see are of white women, so most of my banners reflect this, but I would like to test out black women to see if they convert better.

I still don't have enough banner data to cut any banners. I also need to collect more data on my map LP split test to make any decisions.

NEXT STEPS

-Continue collecting data
-Upload 10 banners with black women

06-01-2015 10:07 AM #8 caurmen (Administrator)

Increasing bids: are you in profit or close to profit on those placements? Also, what's the ROI on placement #1?

You might be surprised what EPCs can be profitable! At the end of the day, all that matters is that your CPC is lower...

06-01-2015 06:15 PM #9 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Very good point Caurmen, thanks for the tip!

Here are my EPCs and CPCs by placement. I only included the placements I'm currently running.

Placement 1: EPC = $0.05, CPC = $0.064
Placement 2: EPC = $0.14, CPC = $0.125
Placement 3: EPC = $0.17, CPC = $0.164
Placement 4: EPC = $0.12, CPC = $0.133
Placement 5: EPC = $0.19, CPC = $0.043

From this data, it looks like increasing the bids on placements 2, 3, and 5 would be beneficial. I pulled the EPCs from Voluum and the CPCs from TJ. I'm curious - my spend is higher than my revenue on placement 3, but my EPC > CPC. Why is that?

06-02-2015 05:37 AM #10 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

I created another map lander, this time with black women. This lander actually performed the best today (EPC = $0.19). I only had 47 of my clicks go to this lander today, though, so I will let it run for at least another day. To recap, I have 3 landers running: original map lander from bbrock, split test A with different headline, split test B with images of black women instead of white women.

STATS

Spend: 21.18
Revenue: $16.50
Profit: -$4.68
ROI: -22%

Ad CTR: .388%
LP CTR: 56%
Conversions: 6

The ROI is definitely improving. It was most likely just a good day since I am still just gathering data and haven't made too many optimizations.

I am currently running 2 offers (stats below).

Size:	56.0 KB
ID:	7171

The second offer has an EPC of $0.11 while the first offer has an EPC of $0.07. I am now only going to run offer 2 and see if this increases ROI.

I'm also starting to get some banner data (see below).

Size:	96.0 KB
ID:	7172

Not enough data to make any decisions yet, but glad that I'm finally getting some data there. Seeing those 24 conversions from an "Unknown" banner still hurts, but oh well.

NEXT STEPS

-Didn't get around to uploading banners of black women, so I will do that tomorrow
-Increase bids for placement 5
-Cut offer A and run only offer B

06-02-2015 09:08 AM #11 caurmen (Administrator)

Looking at that data I'd say your hunch was exactly right. Kill placement #1 or address it in a seperate campaign with dedicated banners and landers, and increase spend on 2, 3, and if I'm reading your data right (EPC $0.12, CPC $0.13), 4.

Also, good call on the black women lander.

Looking forward to your next results - seems like things are moving rapidly in the right direction!

06-02-2015 09:20 AM #12 Finch (Moderator)

You've made a good start.

I would ramp up the bids on the most promising placements. Make sure you use frequency capping if you're not already.

06-03-2015 05:32 AM #13 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Thank you Caurmen and Finch! I appreciate the tips. I've had my frequency cap at 1 per 24 hours since the beginning of the campaign.

Today I upped my bids on TJ for placements 2-5 and tried to get ahead of my competitors. I just bid .01 higher than the top bid and will monitor this closely. I realized that I was getting played on one of my placements. There were 3 people ahead of me with bids .01 - .03 higher than me and they were getting a way higher percentage of the traffic. Then there were people bidding a quarter of what I was bidding with lower frequency caps and getting more traffic than me as well, so I was left with about 10% of the traffic. I'm now .01 above the top big and getting 18% of the traffic (see below).

Is the reason that I'm not getting more traffic because of my frequency cap?

STATS

Spend: $20.23
Revenue: $14.25
Profit: -$5.98
ROI: -29.5%

Ad CTR: .364%
LP CTR: 49.1%
Conversions: 5

I cut one of my offers so I was only running one of the offers today. That seemed to help a little bit. I also uploaded a bunch of banners with black women and am waiting for those to get approved.

The map lander with black women performed the best today by far, so I'm going to continue letting my landers run for another day and make sure that holds before cutting the others and optimizing that lander.

NEXT STEPS

- Monitor bids to make sure I don't get screwed
- Continue to gather data and cut other landers if black map lander works best

06-04-2015 06:08 AM #14 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

The black women banners got rejected today, so I have to make some changes and submit them again tomorrow.

STATS

Spend: $10.19
Revenue: $14.25
Profit: $4.06
ROI: 40%

Ad CTR: .390%
LP CTR: 62.35%
Conversions: 5

It's nice to get in the green! I would obviously like more volume, but I didn't expect to be in the green this quickly so I can't complain too much. I appreciate all of the advice along the way

Unfortunately, the black women map lander that was performing the best the last couple of days was my only lander that got 0 conversions. That lander still has the highest EPC by $0.07 so hopefully today was just an off day for it. We'll see tomorrow.

As for my volume issue, would you recommend I continue upping my bids? How much higher than the top bid would you recommend bidding? My frequency cap is still set at 1 per 24 hours.

NEXT STEPS

-Change black women banners and submit them again
-Increase bids to get more volume
-Continue gathering data

06-05-2015 05:52 AM #15 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

I got the black banners approved! I ran them for part of today and didn't have great results, but it' very early.

STATS

Spend: $18.37
Revenue: $8.55
Profit: -$9.82
ROI: -53%

Ad CTR: .320%
LP CTR: 76%
Conversions: 3

I'm not exactly sure what happened today, I'll just chalk it up to an off day. Hopefully my ROI improves tomorrow. My volume improved today, which is good. I only improved my bids on one of my spots, though, so I'm kind of surprised it rose that much.

Quick question - in Voluum, should I be looking at my EPV or my EPC when comparing to my CPC? I know ultimately I want my EPC > CPC and then scale, but is this EPC referring to my EPV or EPC in Voluum?

I haven't cut any ads yet. I don't have any definitive answers there.

I'm going to only run the black women lander tomorrow. My EPC is $0.07 higher than any other lander after 130 clicks.

NEXT STEPS

-Cut landers
-Split test headline on map lander

06-05-2015 07:52 AM #16 drazenb (Member)

Following this thread, good luck with your journey man. Would like to get in adult but no idea where to start.

Any guide or course you can recommend?

06-05-2015 11:09 PM #17 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Thanks! There is a lot of information on here to help you along the way. Another website I really enjoyed when getting started was http://adultmediabuying.com/

I know I probably sound like a broken record, but I've learned way more by launching campaigns the past few weeks than I ever could have just reading these articles.

This is what I would do to start (take it with a grain of salt as I have only had 1 day in the green so far ):

Ask your AM for a solid adult offer in a Tier 3 Geo. Get yourself a VPN (I recommend Hide Your Ass if you don't have one) and go to the top sites in the GEO of your offer. The sites I usually go to are Pornhub and Redtube. The ads you see first are the ads that have the highest bids, which usually means they are making money. Click on the ads and see the LPs/offers that they are going to. Scrape about 10 of these ads that work with your offer. Scrape 2 of the landers that you see and then sign up for Traffic Junky and launch. Set your frequency capping to 1 per 24 hours and set your budget to $50/day if you can afford it. If you need any help, hit me up on skype: adam.altman.workday

06-06-2015 06:08 AM #18 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

I split the black women banners into a separate campaign so I can easily track the difference. I'm running these two campaigns on the same placements with the same bids as my original campaign. The stats I continue to post will be the two campaigns combined together.

STATS

Spend: $20.51
Revenue: $8.55
Profit: -$11.96
ROI: -58%

Ad CTR: .448%
LP CTR: 53%
Conversions: 3

So not a great day. The black women campaign had 2 out of the 3 conversions and a significantly higher Ad and LP CTR. I'll continue running.

I'm curious to see how my banners will perform with direct linking. My offer page has questions right now so I'm going to try direct linking it tomorrow on my original campaign. I'll keep running my landers on the black women campaign. I didn't split test headlines today on the map lander, but I will do that tomorrow.

NEXT STEPS

-Direct link original campaign
-Create split test for lander headlines

06-07-2015 05:16 AM #19 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

STATS

Spend: $18.63
Revenue: $11.40
Profit: -$7.23
ROI: -39%

Ad CTR: .395%
LP CTR: 42%
Conversions: 4

3/4 of my conversions today came from the original campaign, which was direct linking. I am going to do that for both campaigns tomorrow and see how it goes. The black women campaign got almost twice as many clicks as my original campaign, so I am excited to see how that campaign does with direct linking.

My headline split test definitely flopped, so it's time to really focus in on the Life Force 8 and work on my copywriting. I have some other ideas for headlines to test out with my map lander. After the direct linking I will test them. I was recently turned onto the idea of writing 25 headlines for a specific offer and picking out the best 2-3. I couldn't think of 25 so I wrote 10 and am going to pick the best 2 or 3 and test these.

I'm still the top bidder at the 4 placements I am at, so I don't think traffic quality is an issue.

I'll wait to see the results tomorrow before I do anything else.

NEXT STEPS

-Direct link both campaigns
-Meet with mastermind tomorrow

06-07-2015 10:04 PM #20 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Edited stats from yesterday - a couple conversions came through late.

06-08-2015 05:26 AM #21 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

I cut about half of my ads today on the original campaign. Most had spent 1-2 times the offer payout, so I compared the EPC to CPC and kept ads with higher EPCs than CPCs or ads that were close.

STATS

Spend: $16.65
Revenue: $2.85
Profit:-$13.80
ROI:-83%

Ad CTR: .355%
LP CTR: 0 (direct linking)
Conversions: 1

Hopefully more conversions come in tonight and I can edit this tomorrow

Overall, direct linking probably isn't the answer. I'm going to throw my LPs back into the mix and continue split testing headlines until I find a solid one.

The black women campaign continues to get more clicks on the same spend, so the opportunity is there, I just need to find a lander to go with it.

NEXT STEPS

-Gather data on black women campaign
-Continue optimizing landers

06-09-2015 05:55 AM #22 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

I just ran the map lander today and had better results than Direct Linking. I figured I would, I just wanted to make sure.

STATS

Spend: $18.66
Revenue: $17.10
Profit: -$1.56
ROI: -8%

Ad CTR: .471%
LP CTR: 72%
Conversions: 6

The black campaign continues to way outperform the original campaign in terms of Ad CTR and LP CTR. Today, the conversions came around for that campaign as 4 conversions came from that one on the same spend. I only have 8 total conversions on that campaign, so I need more data to make any decisions. I may run that campaign on all placements to get more data as I am maxing out at $9/day on it right now.

I created 3 more map landing pages. I changed the background to match the offer background on one, and to match the placement's background color on another. The last one has the background I am currently using, but has much less words. Cashvertising taught me that long copy works better in almost any scenario, but I wanted to try short copy in the adult world as a respected friend of mine recommended it.

For productivity, I just started this technique called "Do One Thing Per Day". If you want to read more, here is the article by Malan Darras that goes into it in more detail: Do 1 Thing Per Day . The concept is to basically come up with a goal, and write out the steps that it will take you to get there. Each day, you pick one of the steps and do it. This means you do 7 things a week, 30 things a month, etc. Make sure it isn't something that you are already going to do like "Eat Breakfast". For example, today my one thing was create 2 landers to split test against my current lander. I'll gather that data tomorrow.

In my next steps section, I am now going to write my one thing for the next day.

ONE THING

-Create 10 black banners based on what is working in original campaign

06-10-2015 06:35 AM #23 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Quick update today..

STATS

Spend: $22.26
Revenue: $17.10
Profit: -$5.16
ROI: -23%

Ad CTR: .374%
LP CTR: 87%
Conversions: 6

I spoke with a couple guys in my mastermind today and realized I should be aiming for higher CTRs. I came from POF so I assume a CTR of .4% was solid, but I want to aim for higher. I know more important than CTR is CVR, but I still think CTR is a good early indicator of CVR.

I uploaded 10 new banners today, so hopefully they will be approved early tomorrow morning and I'll get able to test.

My LP split test doesn't have any definitive winners yet. 2 conversions from my original and new black background, and 1 conversion from the offer page background and a question lander I threw in the mix late.

ONE THING

-Upload 10 more banners

06-10-2015 06:42 PM #24 acepowermarketing (AMC Alumnus)

this map lander is interesting, i havent seen it for a very long time, everyone is using the standard stuff (including me). so this should give you quite a good edge. your data is coming in pretty slow, and the payout is quite high. you need to be spending more to get meaningful data to work on, something like at least 30-40 conversions a day, so you have some definitive conclusions to move forward. and with a slightly losing campaign you should be able to find a way to increase the spend, maybe opening up the budget or something

06-10-2015 08:44 PM #25 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Thanks for the comment, Xavier. I have my budget set to $50/day, it just won't spend that much. Would you recommend opening my campaign up to all NTVB placements to get more data, and then worry about optimizing placements? Or maybe running campaign on another traffic source as well?

for a start maybe u can add in one or 2 placements? not on the same site of course. if you are on a budget you can add placements slowly, and when you have enough you can do RON but that requires a much bigger budget.

at the end of the day u want to get around 30+ conversions at least to have something to work with...

06-10-2015 09:27 PM #27 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

I appreciate the advice. I will add in a placement at one of the premium networks. I also wonder if I can get enough traffic on the WEB in the ZA geo. I guess only time will tell.

06-11-2015 06:47 AM #28 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

So yesterday 5 out of my 6 conversions came from my original campaign. Today, 4 out of 5 came from my black women campaign.

STATS

Spend: $25.98
Revenue: $14.25
Profit: -$11.73
ROI: -45%

Ad CTR: .410%
LP CTR: 51%
Conversions: 5

I was able to get a little more volume today. I added a premium placement that will allow me to test ads and LPs quicker, which I think will help. I don't like testing this slowly, so hopefully this will get the ball rolling.

I also found 2 ads that have EPCs $0.20+ with CPCs of $0.07 after about 20k impressions so I am going to run these ads on all of the NTVB and Top Right Square placements that I can.

My LPs are pretty consistent, so I think I am going to leave them for now. I think my low CVR is due to my ads and not as much my LPs, but can't say for certain.

ONE THING
-Log all of my stats in Excel

06-12-2015 05:58 AM #29 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Good day today.

STATS

Spend: $29.68
Revenue: $45.60
Profit: $15.92
ROI: 54%

Ad CTR: .431%
LP CTR: 59%
Conversions: 16

I'm really hoping today wasn't a fluke The ads that I added to the campaign seem to be converting at a much higher rate. The black campaign spent a little bit more, but maintained it's high CTR. It's still not converting as well as the original campaign. I have 9 conversions with the original campaign and 7 with the black campaign. The original campaign actually had around 100% ROI today so I'm really hoping it holds and then I can scale.

I cut one of my landers today because it had a $0.04 EPC after 150 clicks compared to the other 2 which have $0.11 and $0.13. I haven't cut any ads, but ensured that my bids are the highest.

ONE THING

Create 10 black banners based on white ones that are working

06-13-2015 05:20 AM #30 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

Solid day for awhile, but definitely dropped off near the end (which was middle of the night for ZA).

STATS

Spend: $50.94
Revenue: $76.20
Profit: $27.26
ROI: 54%

Ad CTR: .425%
LP CTR: 60%
Conversions: 24

So 14 conversions came from my original campaign vs 7 from my black campaign. The new banners seem to be working. My LPs are all performing about the same (+/- $0.02 EPC).

Instead of creating new black banners today, I decided to join 3 other traffic sources and upload my campaigns there. Exoclick, Ero-advertising, and Adbucks were the three traffic sources.

The only campaign that was running by the end of the day was the Ero-advertising one, and it spent $0.98 and got $0 in return. I'll let it run tomorrow before making any decisions, but I hope it converts. Also, I just picked about 15 placements that brought in 500-3,000 impressions per day to test on Ero-advertising. The placements were all NTV spots, so I tried to eliminate footer squares. It looks like my ads got rejected on Exoclick, although I don't know what the issue would be so I have a support ticket in with them. The Adbucks campaign hasn't been approved yet. Hopefully I can scale this thing up.

ONE THING

-Create black banners today

08-06-2015 12:54 AM #31 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

STATS LAST 5 DAYS

Spend: $435.00
Revenue: $525.00
Profit: $90.00
ROI: 21%

Good to be in the green, obviously, but nothing major. I scaled to Traffic Factory and it worked pretty well, so I may try to scale to Ero next. I want to scale slower this time as I got overwhelmed last time by scaling my campaigns to a bunch of different traffic sources at once. I realize that it would be beneficial to scale as fast as possible, but last time I couldn't optimize all of the traffic sources at once and lost track.

One thing I would definitely like to speed up is my testing process. I usually let ads run for 4-5 days before assessing their EPV and CPV. It seems like I should be testing much quicker. Does anyone have any recommendations for me as far as testing goes? I feel like my banners are becoming blind pretty quickly and I'm not testing quick enough to find new ones.

I've been running another campaign in a much larger geo and had my first profitable day a few days ago. That was exciting, but I went back to the red the day after. It is slowly trending up, though, so hopefully I can keep that trend going into the green.

Nice, keep going!

Just use the usual rule - 2-3 payouts. In fact if you already have a established LP+offer combo i'd test on way less budget like 1-1.5 payouts. Just think about it, if you have 1 banner that make 3 conversions on 1 payout budget why keep the one who make 0. Yes, it could be that that banner just got the non converting impressions or other reason, but i'd rather test another one quicker and increase my changes to find a new winner.

You are already have your own base benchmarks based on data. Arrange them on categories based on let's say - ROI, so 100%+ ROI - golden banners, 50%+ ROI - great banners, 20% - fine. Anything bellow that - looser, let's test next.

Make a lot of them and upload them in batches, let's say 20-50. Now you pause them all and unpause as the testing go. (not saying that you could sneak just a few ones marginally compliant in those batches, although they could compromise the all batch haha)

Hahaha that's a good idea.. I'll have to do some research and see what is technically allowed so that I know where the line lies. Thanks for the tip. Definitely gets the ideas flowing.

Well at least it's green! I haven't done much to this campaign. I've been working on my other geo, which is very slowly coming along. I am still losing money on that campaign, but once I can get it in the green, it has much more potential than this geo. I'm just going to keep creating/ripping banners and doing my best. At this point, I feel like I've scraped every banner out there, so might be time to just strictly create banners.

Common problem in adult dating these days... margins are low but you're on good track for sure. Have you read this post by Finch?

Good stuff!

You got it hangman!

STATS SINCE LAST UPDATE

Spend: $680.59
Revenue: $696.00
Profit: $15.41
ROI: 2.3%

Still pretty much breaking even. I'm not sure if I want to ask for a pay bump because last time I did this I actually got my payout decreased, so I'm not sure what else to do here. It started to get red on TJ, so I stopped it for a few days and only ran TF. TF is giving me 100% ROI, but I can't spend more than $25/day there. I just upped my bids on TF so hopefully that increases traffic.

I also optimized this campaign and got rid of a couple banners. I will create new banners as well.

quick question this campain is running on mobile or desktop only? and if running on desktop do you run the same campain on mobile as well (lots of networks have desktop offer and different link for the same mobile offer), coz the banner 300x250 can work for mobile and web as well...

I'm only running desktop, but have recently really considered going mobile as well. That will be my focus this week. Thanks hangman.

we are in the same boat. after making the best day 190$ profit with an adult campaign, the funnel died and i was never able to reanimtate that. i made around 1500$ revenue the last ten days but just on break even. and i try and try ... its not that easy :-)

but we will make it! never stop tesing...

any new stats from this campain mate?

STATS

Spend: $573.58
Revenue: $486.00
Profit: -$87.58
ROI: -15%

Not a great last week. The offer might be officially dying at this point. This has been all desktop. I've been working on the mobile landers and resizing my banners to run the mobile offer. Hopefully the mobile offer works just as well as this one used to.

sometimes its not the whole offer. sometimes just use another offer-lander when your network have different ones splittest them, try a non-nude for example. they do sometimes better than then nude landers.
i had an adult offer going down and down after i just tried the non-nude version of the offer lander and it converted better then ever before.

Offers come and go of course, but usually there are different reason for an offer to perform worse than a week before.

I'm not sure what GEO you run in, but the summer holiday is ending soon and it was very hot across Europe, so families used the last hot holiday week/weekend for activities which resulted in lower traffic than on a common weekend for example. I know that most of my EU campaigns performed worse this weekend because of this.

Outrage666 gave you a solid advice too, different landers of the same offer often behave like completely different offers, test them.

When performance goes down its a good idea to refresh banners or LPs. Check the major spots where you are running, very often all it takes is someone bidding slightly higher than you, taking the most valuable first impressions from you...

It can also be just a bad week or a few days, this happens so often... when I see an offer performing worse for a day or two, many times I just dont care and let it run and suprisingly often the performance simply returns after a few days. Thats why its important to run in several verticals/GEOs at the same time and have as many campaigns as you can manage. So when an offer or two goes down for a while, you dont have to panic as the rest will make up for it. It really helps to keep the stress down at an acceptable level

any more news about the campains?

09-11-2015 06:05 AM #46 smalcolm (AMC Alumnus)

No new news as of now. I paused the campaign since the offer page I was running was a rotator. I have been running another GEO so I will revisit this once that GEO dies down, but I am having a little more success there now so I want to focus all of my time there for right now.
