Two WEIRD Questions for Adult Marketers!

If you’ve read my previous posts regarding list building within the Adult space, you’ll know why I consider it a bad market for building a responsive opt in list.

However, I think there might be one exception that proves the rule, and I would put it under the category of “worth testing.” This means, to use some current language going around the NFL, it’s “more probable than not” that it won’t work, but if it does, it could be a hit. So, worth testing with the expectation of failure.

The best type of market is one you can sell “relief of inadequacy” to, and there are two categories for that in the adult market: guys who can’t get it up (ED issues) and guys who believe their wieners are too small (penis enlargement). Obviously both of these categories transcend the adult market as Viagra and Cialis are all over cable tv and penis pill ads run in every magazine that caters to men, but they might be reachable at an acceptable cost in the adult market.

There might be a list building opportunity to each category using adult media, since there is commonality of painful experience that lends itself to one to many marketing. But before I spend the time, energy and effort to test it, I’d quite appreciate some feedback from experienced adult marketers who’ve promoted penis enlargement offers and/or “get and stay hard offers.”

So, two questions:

1) To English speaking geos (US, UK, AUS, NZ, Canada) what’s your average cost per click from banners, text links, etc?

2) If using a landing/pre-sell page, what’s your clickthrough rate from landing page to offer?

While these are general numbers, they will give me an indication if this is viable or not…no amount of good marketing can overcome bad economics, and your answers will give me an idea of the economics, especially you guys who have a lot of experience in these categories.

I can't really answer your questions, but I have thought about the idea many times.
Not specific to the topics you describe, but they have crossed my mind.

But the main reason I let it go was: "I don't know shit about these topics".
And study them, internalize them and make them my own would take weeks if not months (if I have the correct material to study of course).

How do you go in a market you don't know much about?

0.15 - 0.22 at Scalable CPM price

It varies soooo much! From 10% - 40%. But at all what matters are the conversions. I use to get more conversions from low CTR ones...

Yes we ran a lot of male enhancement offers on Tubes, pops and email traffic.
