Sweepstakes - Step by Step (12)

Sweepstakes - Step by Step

I'm Dmitriy and I'm from Russia (and I'm not so Angry )

I came to mobile after 2 years in SEO (ouh it's so original ). Read a lot materials, and as many guys here started Mobile cookbook (Appetizer) - tried the bunch of CPI offers on Decisive - but with zero results (--99ROI). But after some time of thinking I would dig deep into sweepstakes offers for some time.
And I started with pretty "standard" LP's on different POP and redirect sources (ZP/RevenueHits/PopAds/PopCash)

Size:	199.7 KB

And as you can guess nothing good happened with this landers - CTR and CR pretty the same on different traffic sources, but I can't get CTR higher than 15% on pops (with alert/back button/etc scripts, and 2-3% without) and 30% on redirects.

After that tests I run more interactive and game-like lander:

CTR is the same but CR is incredibly low.

At this stage I tested list of sweepstakes offers and found one that converts x5 times better than others, so I can take this offer as constant, but traffic sources and landers as variables.

Ways I see to move forward:
- test another LPs and Traffic Sources
- try DSP networks
- try FB with Quiz landers for audiences with targeted interests (like Sherlock TV series fans)

But I really confused a little bit at this stage . So please guys - comment my efforts and give me some advice

Best Regards
and from Russia with Love

Hey Dimitry, in a similar situation. Will be following closely. Good luck!

The first landing page is a cloaked landing page, they basically detect you're on a desktop pc and redirect you :/
Not saying that landing page can't work, but it was designed to prevent you from swiping the actual landing page.

I would suggest using a VPN on your mobile and manually spy on traffic sources like Adcash and Zeropark, going through t1/t2 countries you will come across the same fb themed landing page which will likely provide better results. (apkfullpro.com for adcash and isntagram.com for zeropark domain traffic)

@callmep Thanks so much for your wishes

@jack45 I was thinking about it - because it is most popular and old landing page at mobileadscout. Thanks for idea! I would spend more time at spying ))

Hi jack, how do you spy sites on adcash? I only see website ids from my Voluum.

hey dmitry.
yeah i also tried more interactive game like LPs for sweeps but they all failed more than the standard FB themed ones.

also tried the fb quiz landers. also didn't work better than the "instant winner" style.

i wish there was another more interesting lander. but alas.

On the second lander (the interactive one) you've got a reasonably serious typo that might well be hurting your CTR: both times where I think you want "Tap" ( as in "tap as many times as you can") it reads "tab". That's likely to be confusing people.

Hi Eric

If you want to find out a domain for a specific website id on adcash, I believe ratalliance made a post on these forums about how to do it via google search.

As for spying in general, I was simply browsing apk sites till I found one which used adcash pop ads.

I will search around for that post, thanks for the heads up

This definitely sounds like a great approach!

I would suggest choosing one pop traffic source for testing - preferrably one that has a lot of traffic so you can speed up your testing. Then just mass-test landers. Once you have a decent lander, then you can mass-test offers again - I don't know how many offers you tried in your first round, but there will always be new offers, and different geos to test. If you stick with generic angles, you can get your good lander translated into other languages and mass-test offers in multiple geos. Once you find a good creatives + offer combo, scale to other traffic networks (start with a low bid and only increase it if the camp is profitable). They won't all be profitable, but you can always cut the losers and keep running/tweaking the winners.

Never stop testing landers. Make a note of offers that were breaking even or were at a slight loss. Once you have better landers you can always try them with those near break-even offers from before - chances are they'll be profitable.

And as soon as you have a good lander, you can make banners and start testing on display traffic. If you start with display traffic right away, it's hard to optimize things because both your landers and banners are unproven, so you can't know which one is the problem. Whereas if you use pop traffic to optimize your lander first, when you scale to display traffic you KNOW your lander is good - then you'd only need to test banners and cut bad placements.

Also: Your game lander looks badass!! I would definitely correct that typo Caurmen pointed out and re-test it!

Hope this helps!

sorry for late reply!
Thanks for all your thoughts!

First - I tried game lander without typo - results pretty the same.

Tried a lot of things and was very wondered why so little amount of conversions, at one point I was thinking that there is a lot of bots (as everybody think at some point).
But I found a way to test it: I created a super simple&stupid html page with "win iphone" title and aweber forms - Just asking email + Full name, and replaced in voluume CD offer with my simple page, and test showed me x100 conversions with the same landers/budget (50% of subscribers confirmed their emails instantly).

So guys there is not so much bots there, but burned/hard for users offers.

P.S. purpose of this test was not to collect emails and promote sweepstakes via emails ) just to test "offer" with control over conversions

Wow - that's a creative way of testing for bots!

I thought you had already found an offer that converted somewhat well?

It will take a lot of testings of landers and offers. If your current offer is converting badly, PM me for recommendation of a decent offer you can use for lander testing.
