First app in Google Play

Good morning - at least here it is (:
I just got my first app on google play-Game simiilar to candy crush but with a twist. (source code from Chupamobile reskinned on Fivver,Integrated with Revmob SDK)

I took this great course
https://www.udemy.com/learn-reskinni...-apps-business

Now I want to start buying installs and collect some data. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this and can recommend networks (I have been looking at startapp and appnext).
Highest eCPM's countries
Highest loyalty rate by country (I mean how long the user has you app installed)

I do realize these questions depend on many factors but let's assume this is a cool game that people enjoy playing (:

Also any other helpful feedback would be appreciated,
Best

First of all congratulations!

That is a big achievement.

I think you will find that it is a very crowded marketplace, so getting installs will definitely not be easy. That said, I know there are some people on this forum that could easily drive a big burst of downloads for you if you have the budget for it. It may be better than working with a network if you can find people that you can trust to work with directly.

Appreciate the feedback. It is relatively easy to get an app up and going today that is why like you said it is a crowded market place. I don't think I am at a stage to work directly yet as I have no idea how the users will interact with the app, how much money I can make per install etc. I think I need to get about 100 installs and than I'll have some clue. Either way I'll keep exploring and update you guys on the progress.

Getting your first App up is a big deal, so well done. IMO the re-skinning game is past. The source codes for sale on Chupa has been beaten to death.

My advise is to watch your results closely. If you get some traction you should add some unique aspects to your app but if you have a unique angle on an existing app it could still work.

You will need a lot more than 100 installs to make a call on performance.

With so little knowledge: BRAZIL.

On Facebook, Brazil has one of the best Average Cots per App Install vs. Average App Install Rate.

But equally important is your LTV (life time customer value). OK, you need to guess it.

Forget app install ads on Facebook if your LTV is sub-$10.

Ideally your LTV is $20 and higher ( I spare you the math ).

If your app is a "whale" and you get an LTV of $75 and higher, we need to talk :-)

I have had several apps in google .

I would say forget about buying installs, it will probably kill budget, focus on ASO (App search Optimization)
Get it ranked high and it will get you free installs, and will be generally cheaper.
10k installs - around $1k or so, you can use that 1k to rank app and get 10k installs daily for free, so which sounds better ?

While my knowledge in ASO an app promotion is limited still being a paid traffic guy I do know that there is no such thing as free traffic. If you have some resources that show how one time $1k spend gets you 10k installs daily please share it with me. Also as Franco12 mentioned the most important metric is the lifetime value of the user so it's not just how many installs you get.
I think it is best to split budget between buying some installs and investing the rest in PR , review sites, etc.

Congrats!

Chartboost is doing a ton of game installs, but comes with a higher cost, especially in premium markets, because all the big boys are on it as well. Tapjoy can deliver a huge amount of installs, too. There is a forum by the name of http://forums.makingmoneywithandroid.com/ which has some decent bits of information, especially on network performance and such.

ad ASO: I feel like there is a lot of basic guides out there, but no real reliable strategies which makes it kind of unreliable. At least that has been my experience so far.

Thank for the useful tips. I agree with what you said about ASO. I feel there are some basic things you can do and than you need to start buying exposure weather it is buying app installs directly or getting your app reviewed on a big forum/review site/news site etc.

Agree with @conquer. Buying installs only makes sense if you have
1. Big Budget - buying 1000 installs won't tell you anything
2. Well honed monetization strategy
3. Multiple games to cross-promote
4. App that people use a LOT - needs to be very usefull. Loyal users is the only way to make paid installs work

You will find that even spending $0.50 per install on US is VERY hard to make work. In T2 and T3 countries its even harder. You need to be very aggressive with your IAP's

Congragulations "orisin1"

i recommend you before you start to buy downloads to start working on social network and use the Viral feature of the game to get more users and make the "tests" on them.
use your friends and get them to share as much as possible.
as "franco12" Brazil is very hot right now and rates are still not as high as the tier 1 countries so if you do decide to go on buying installs i recommend starting with "cheaper" countries and work on the bugs and problems before moving to the tier 1.

Congratulations again and really looking forward to read about your progress.

if you don't have this ready yet you will need to spend money with networks, 100 installs aren't enough to really understand performance you will need a much bigger audience for that.
