baidu wants all your passwords
Dear {firstname},
We have two important requests for you for Du Speed Booster campaign from the advertiser(Baidu) :
1. Please pass your referrer to the advertiser(Baidu) . Appflyer can pass http_referrer (the link before jumped to GP landing page) to baidu, but the advertiser(Baidu) find some affiliates don’t pass this info to appsflyer. If affiliates cannot pass, the advertiser(Baidu) will stop to cooperate after next Monday.
2. Please pass the account and password of the ad networks where you buy traffic to the advertiser(Baidu). If cannot , the advertiser(Baidu) will stop to cooperate after next Monday.
If you have any other question, please contact with your Affiliate Manager for help.thank you!
Best

Some advertisers do want this so that they can directly check for compliance.
However, it's one of the most perverse behaviours I have ever seen from advertisers. It's akin to asking for your bank account login details so someone can check that you're paying them on time. Not much of a stretch considering that through an ad platform you'd have the ability to burn money from someone's card or credit line.
If they are this particular they should stop working with a plethora of affiliates and work with only a few + build a relationship of trust where they don't need to ask for them to void their privacy.

Maybe they are close to getting their apps pulled from the store by Google.
Desperate times = desperate measures

Yeah, i don't really understand why a lot of these app companies use affiliate networks. I'm sure there are literally 1000s of performance agencies which would be more than happy to work directly with baidu, completely transparently and compliantly.
Why would baidu go through the hassle and risks of affiliate network traffic. there is no policy that can control the actions of 1000s of anonymous strangers spread around the world.
though, i suppose that's why they've stopped.
maybe i should give baidu head office a call

Google is poaching the big advertisers this way.
They got clean master to go direct now they want baidu and all the other mega budget apps to go direct too.
Its how google does business. The art of leverage of cutting the middle men.
